X-Flight, the new flying coaster at the recently formed Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, will not open this weekend. A tentative date of May 19 has been announced.

I hope it's opened by late June because I am really looking forward to riding X Flight this summer. I really don't want to have to wait until the following year or two to ride it due to delays. Oh well. My fingers are crossed.

~~See you on the lift hill
X-flight was delayed mostly
Because of weather problems
(its hard to poor headers while the cement is freezing) I live 15 minutes away from
from SFWoA and I have to say it was a winter from
H*ll with it below freezing most of the time even in march Now that it has warmed up and all of the parts are here and All it has to do is go though test and stuff I think it will be open
By the 19th
"(its hard to poor headers while the cement is freezing) "

And that's why some parks like SFGAdv, PKD and Dorney started construction in the fall....
But when was the annoucement of X-Flight made? Seems to me the contract between Vekoma and Paramount dissoved sometime last fall, and SF annoucement was pretty late as well. So it's fair to say that a fall construction plan was not possible.

The contract between SF and Vekoma was signed at or shortly after IAAPA. Wasn't that in November??

Look...we can argue this all day long...it doesn't change the fact that X-Flight is opening late, most likely on the 19th. In the meantime enjoy the coasters you CAN ride and don't get frustrated about the ones you can't.

Way to go Mammosh! Your just too cool. I hope I run into you at SFMW one of these days. :) *** This post was edited by DWeaver on 5/8/2001. ***

DWeaver...thanks. I guess as I've gotten older [I'll be 36 in June] I've learned not to get all worked up over things I cannot control. Life is too short to get all angry about a ride that is closed or delayed or a park that is really crowded.

In fact the very best day I've *EVER* had at a park was at Knott's on Veteran's Day last year. The place was PACKED! Lines were huge for everything. I was there with two good buddies of mine and instead of riding we sat on a bench and talked for hours. I don't think we rode much of anything that day but it did not matter.

IMHO any day I'm at a park with good friends having fun is a good day, regardless of what we're riding.

OK...enough philosophy. I'm off on a 10-day trip beginning with SRM and ending at Coney !!!
