X-Flight jammed in loop

At SFWoA, I noticed around 6:30 from the Superman station that X-Flight was closed and a hoist platform was doing work on the loop. As I was leaving at 7, I looked from the parking lot and saw that there was actually a train (empty) stuck in the loop. The first car was at the top of the loop.

Maybe it vallied and they were pulling it through. A ride getting stuck in a loop is a rare occurance. I'm interested to hear the details about this....

That could very well be. However, it might have made more sense to pull it back to the horseshoe turn and let it go from there.

Eit: you're a ride op? I want to compliment you guys. I had a much more enjoyable time this year.

That is very unlikely that they would pull the train through the loop and the rest of the course. I can see it for an out an back, but its to much hastle for a looping coaster, just take apart the train and use one train operation until you can re-assemble the train back on the transfer track, and then re-instate the train back into service, after test runs of course ;)

Yea, it sounds like the second train stalled today. Not suprising, as the new train hasn't been used all year.

I remember a few years back Demon at SFGam getting stuck in the loop. It's pretty much luck to get it stalled, I'm sure the physics "know-it-alls" ;) will be here soon to explain it. :)

If at first don't succeed, find out if the loser gets anything.

Wasn't the Demon the one that actually got physically jammed in the ride when one of the wheel assemblies broke off and got lodged in the track (in the loop)? I hope nothing like that happened today! :-O

Hello everyone,

Word from management in the park is that this is the second train (the one that hasn't been running yet all year.) Today is the first day they have tried it...and it vallied. They said it needs to just warm up after the winter. So it looks like X-Flight will very soon be running two trains and in time for the crowds.

How long is it going to take to get this train off of the track?
And to think it started life with three trains. Amazing engineering there.

Without the chaindog, you'd never get up the lifthill...

Demon at SFGam did actually break and get stuck in the loop with people on it. I remember because I was at the park the day that it happened. I think a few people ended up passing out from the head rush. That would be scary!

X-Flight (and any flyer, Verkoma or BM) can only accomidate 3 trains by having an extra station. Great idea for increasing capacity, but in the end hardly cost effective I have yet to vist a flyer with two stations operational.

X-Flight was running today! I do not remember which train was going however...

It's coming...

X-Flight was stuck in the position you described when I went past the park at about 4:45pm last night. They had the hoist platform overthere so it was stuck there for a while. I have no idea when it happened, but it was like that for a while if it was still there at 6:30.
No, it did get stuck in the loop.
