X-Flight grows a loop and continues to blossom

Posted | Contributed by Chip Wood

Amidst the snow and cold, the company constructing SFWoA's X-Flight has got to be setting some sort of record with the pace that this coaster is coming together. This week, the bi-line to the story is the coaster's first inversion is rapidly coming into form.

We've got some pics, some ramblings, and some general gobble-dee-gook concerning the goodness going on over at the park formerly known as Geauga Lake. It can be found in Dozer Notes.

It's amazing to me how fast this coaster has risen. It seems like only a few weeks ago that they were pouring footers.

It gives me hope that SFGAm might have one or both of its new coasters ready by opening day 5/5.

WHAT ABOUT SIX FLAGS AMERICA?! BATWING SHOULD HAVE AN UPDATE EVERY 4 MINUTES AS WELL!!!

The reason X-Flight is getting so many updates is because it is literally right next to a major road, literally in the front corner of the parking lot. It also helps that there are many good camera angles.

Well if SFWOA can whip up their coaster this quick, I have no doubts in my mind that X and Deja Vu will be ready on time.
Franklelock, Shivering Tim is right about Batwing. Remember where Batwing is being put up. It'll be right next to Superman and from Central Ave you can only see some of the first drop of Superman and it's 200ft. tall. Maybe someone from Coaster Zombies can get access. Hint, hint Sam. Of course if your really desparate to get a look there's a small airport in Bowie.

Once again I ask the guys at Refreshing Look why there are no scroll bars on their pages. Half of the text is unreadable on my screen!
All I can say is that stupid Mirage still looks unfinished! Is it going to stay yellow??? The vehicle (no pun intended-really) on it is quite incredible, and after last season without it, I look forward to a ride in May. Speaking of which, will X Flight be open on time?? I will visit around the first weekend in May (right before Stark Raven Mad!).

An unnerving stillness in the woods of southern Indiana beckons for your soul on May 11th and 12th.....
I-Fan: What do you mean? There are scroll bars? I view the ARL (A Refreshing Look) site daily using both Netscape and Internet Explorer and I can always scroll when needed. There might be a problem at your end...

SuperbatBoy: Don't hold your breath on SFMM's Deja Vu and X opening before May. It's already mid March and there is NO vertical construction yet...not even all the footers have been poured. We've had a lot of rain out here in LA and its slowing construction.

My guess would be Deja around Memorial Day and X in mid to late summer.
Intamin Fan your screen settings are problaby too small just go into your settings and change them to a bigger setting.

Get ready to fly over Six Flags Oh..er I mean Six Flags Worlds of Adventure this summer with X-Flight!
I cant get to scroll across either. Not that any of you really care.

Coaster Chat www.petercoasterworld.homestead.com
the chat sucks because no one goes there.
The Eldorado (former Mirage) is said to be back up and running. X-Flight should be done in time for opening weekend (May 4, 5, 6)
Wow!!!!!! What a Stealth coaster. It is the same thing. The cool thing about Batwing is that it has a helix and the end. X-Flight is the same design as Stealth.

Best Steel
1.) Millennium Force - CP
2.) Medusa - SFMW
3.) Dueling Dragons (Fire) - IOA
4.) Dueling Dragons (Ice) - IOA
5.) The Incredible Hulk - IOA

No its not. X flight and Batwing are the same, Stealth is slightly different than all of them.

Actually.. I wouldn't bet on X or Vu being ready in time..

They are different machines... taller.. longer.. X-Flight is pretty much a smalle rcoaster, and easier to make.

Comparing apples and kiwi's...
That problem with the text being cut off to the right happens to me too.
the only difference between the 3 is the 2 final elements. Batwing does an inline twist, Stealth an inside the track corkscrew, and X-light does it`s corkscrew in the flying position. Besides the ending they are all the same ride.
Growing like a weed it is, it's even the same colour as one! :)

So, who were those people that said it wasnt going to be finished for opening? I know they still have a while to go, but theyre moving quick. Oh, the reason that its going so fast and it seems to be like a level 1 snap together model is because its pre-esembled and once the footers are poured its pretty much gonna fly.

Side-Note: Have you guys seen the pics of the finished Nitro. At ridezone (www.ridezone.com) they have aerial shots of the completed Nitro. Theyre really good pics to. Go ahead and chech em out, it looks awsome.
Actually the biggest differance with the new Dutchmen for Six Flags is the dual loading platforms that will greatly increase capacity.

I-Fan. I understand that the air space over SFA is very closely controled, as is most of it around DC, making aerial photography impossible unless you're good friends with an air force general. The best bet for progress reports would be an insider at SFA or someone with the contractors doing to work.
