X-Fight...Hit or Miss?

Has anyone out there ridden Stealth and can tell us their impression of this coaster type.

I was really looking forward to Batman Knight Flight being a "floorless" but I was underwelmed after riding it.

This flying thing sounds interesting though.

Ahhh Stealth. I have said it before and I will say it again. Stealth was/is the most overrated coaster there is. It is extremely slow and you do not get a lot of airtime or flytime either. I think the only part I had fun on was the drop and the curve back. I think the coaster needs to be tall and SMOOTHER. But that a Vecoma for you. As for experience, because PGA is a cool park but not the best, they did have a very good time loading the ride. It took forever just to get to the station. Overall, if SFO can do better, good, but if they can't then it is going to be number 2 on my worst coaster list because there is no way it could be worse then Stealth.

Number 1 And Only Cedar Point
Stealth, while a good ride, is not the coaster some people make it out to be. It delivers some good flying sensation, but it's way too short and like Jephry stated, it's a bit slow. The loading time is also EXTREMELY slow, it does take quite a long time to get to the station and load up. Hopefully Vekoma has addressed this issue and SFO can find a way to alleviate the problem. As far as if the coaster will be a hit or miss, I predict that X-Flight will be a much better coaster than Stealth is, and it will be one of the most popular attractions in the park and in the state. Just my opinion though. Peace. :)

Steath is a good(not great)gimmick ride, but I can say almost without a doubt that the first *full scale* model(SFO) will be 10 times better than the *prototype*.

Life's too short! Let's go ride some coasters!
I have yet to travel to Santa Clara to ride Stealth despite being closer to that park than SFO, but I have family in Cleveland so I usually make a trip to the ol' park each summer. My assessment of the ride is this: X-Flight will be a big hit with the general public. Most of the Six Flags Ohio guests have not been to Great America to ride Stealth and from what I saw last summer, the public seemed to enjoy the new rides immensely. Enthusiasts on the other hand are a whole different breed!

Sincerely,

I think that X-Flight will be more successful than it's west coast counterpart. The fact of the 2 stations should help with load/unload times, but this will also increase the number of operators the ride will require.

I bet if B&M built a flying coaster it would be incredible.
I think X-Flight will be better than Stealth. Mainly because it's longer. Stealth is short and compact, so you don't get the "flying" effect of the ride very much. But that's not to say it's a bad ride. I thought it was very fun and after all, isn't that what what we're really after. I do hope they have addressed the loading/unloading process however, because that is just too painfully long. Living an hour and half from SFO and being able to ride Stealth this past year, I'm anxious to see how they compare.

Thank you for riding America's Roller Coast

X-flight will be a hit!! Stealth was a hit, with the GP AND much of the enthusiast community! Like Jackie Gaughan mentioned, the GP will eat this up. I loved Stealth, X-Flight will be even better!

P.S. Jackie, I lost a pretty penny last year at the Plaza on blackjack, how about a rebate? Also, what happened to the free keychain photo booth? A tradition lost!!

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
I tohught the extra length was due to two loading platforms, and otherwise was a clone of stealth... Let's hope not! ;)

I'm 2 for 2 so far!!!
Well remember that at just 50mph, your not going to get much more mileage out of that. What I think will make X-Flight so much better than Stealth is the capacity issue, as well as the differences in how you travel through the inversions. Vekoma will get a chance to play with the forces of X-flight a little more than Stealth. I might be wrong, but I just see this new version surpassing Stealth in so many ways.

stealth is very slow and very short, but fun. th reason why it takes so long to load is cause of the shoulder harnesses
It's not just the shoulder harnesses, it's the fact that with this type of coaster, the ops have to make DARN sure that everything is attached and secure. That takes a little while. Couple in the fact that the restraints aren't your prototypical coaster restraints and you have a mess of GP who don't really understand how to get into the coaster car. I don't know how many people I heard in the Stealth line say how they didn't understand how they were strapped in. So that increases load times because you have peeps asking ops what to do, etc. and it creates a mess. Peace. :)
I beleive its definetly going to be a hit because 99% of the people who will be going to SFO haven't been to PGA. And if they have probably not while Stealth premeired. I for one am defintely pumped for this ride. And what SFO has in store for us in the future.(meaning SWO side of the lake has NO zoning/ride/or height restrictions for park rides. Grant this doesn't mean anything right now since SFO has stated it will keep the park the way it is but you never know.)
