X continues to grow in SoCal

Posted | Contributed by RRcGoose

Track is completely placed to the top of the last complete towers with stairs nearly so. With that done, the tallest tower of the chain begins its accent higher.

for all you SFMM smarties:

i'm not completely familiar with the layout for x, so what is going to be stuck on that big ole "megafooter"? and just why is it so big. it looks like it has different leveled teirs or something. any ideas?
I believe that is where the Raven turn (Immelman) is going to be located; it's probably going to need to have many supports because of the forces applied at that particular spot.

Its amazing how compact it is going to be for a hyper! Must be those light trains.

Yeah, its where the raven turn is going to be. What exactly do raven turns look like or do?

I also am quite impressed by how compact it is going to be, but i guess its only that way because they can have the track face which ever way they want, hence it being able to save space that way.

CP in 2002, get to the point
The Raven turn is like an Immelman on a B&M inverted coaster or the first inversion on Wildfire.

so why does it have different tiers like that? any ideas?

I beleive it will support the first, and part of the second raven turn, so the footer needs to be wide.

id rather be on a coaster.....
The lift topped off today, looks like their about ready to start the drop...

Too much is simply NOT ENOUGH...
OutKast- The dip is done? No way
I cant wait to see the rides first drop it is going to be crazy since it is going to be 88.5 degrees!!
I also heard that dejavu is testing now. Is this true?
you guys should check out Keith Mcveen's rendering of the imaginary alien 4d coaster, it shows a pic of a "raven turn". badnitrus.danimation.com
A raven turn is kind of like an immelman, but instead of flipping upside down, you just keep going straight because on the drop you be flying down back wards and they need some kind of inversion to change the direction of the train so you are facing forwards.
Has anyone seen new pics of X or Deja vu testing? I'm going in 2 weeks so I hope it's open. As for the dip of X, I doubt that's true.
Well I am just getting back from SFMM and the dip wasn't installed when I was there. The highest tower is almost complete they were working on some supports at the bottom of the tower and the Support structure that's tops it off was sitting on the ground waiting to be installed. They were also assembling the drop structure supports on the ground and they should start lifting them very soon. The ending brake run is also installed, They are working on the last of the footers for the turn around they were filling them while I was there. All in all construction is moving along at a great rate of speed and X should be complete in no time. Also the mega foot is for both of the Raven turns that's why it's so huge and deep.
When is X supposed to open? How about Deja Vu?
X is scheduled to open July 4th, but I'm sure it will get delayed. Deja Vu was supposed to open on Memorial Day, but as you know it is delayed already.
so:

going up the lift you will be facing backwards, and you will head down the first drop head first, then, the raven turn will point you back, going forwards. correct?

ravenguy98: thats what it looks like. I can't image going down a 200 ft hill head first on my back - that is insane.
