X construction continues at Magic Mountain

Posted | Contributed by James Disney

WestCoaster took a trip up to Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott's Berry Farm for an update. Perilous Plunge is completely drained and is getting a bit of a paint job. Up at the Mountain, X is continuing to rise, Deja Vu is being finished and work looks to have begun on the rumored 4th attraction with land clearing taking place.

I'm having loading problems, too.
me too......
I showed the animation from the Discovery Channel the other night to two non-enthusiasts and to say they were excited by X is an understatement. This could be a huge hit for SFMM.
I wanted to go is mAy but now I'm coming in September (only for X and Déjà Vu).

SFMM here I come from Holland!
Hey Intamin Fan Where can I get the animation for X? Is it different from the one on the Six Flags website?
Oh yeah I have showed alot of people the annimation too and they are really looking forward to ride it as well so I am sure it will be a big hit!
WHAT? Why is SFMM getting a 4th ride? That is 5 new rides in nearly two years. What about SFEG?

"Riding High"

Hmmm... Only ONE of the three Six Flags parks in Texas could "afford" ONE new coaster this year; my home park (AstroWorld) hasn't gotten ONE new coaster since its 30th anninversary in 1998; but Magic Mountain can "afford" THREE new coasters, and possibly a FOURTH new ride as well this year, and they got Goliath last year, the Riddler's Revenge the year before that, Superman the Escape the year before that, etc, etc, etc, ad nauseum... Could Six Flags PLEASE remember that there IS life OUTSIDE of California? I am so SICK of Magic Mountain getting record breaking rides ALL THE TIME! How do they figure that Magic Mountain should be the "crown jewel" of all the Six Flags parks anyway? Six Flags Over Texas is the ORIGINAL Six Flags park! The best of the best SHOULD be right here in Texas, where the whole Six Flags empire began!

As has been said many times, the parks that need to remain competitive and can demonstrate a return on investment get the capital improvements. It's about good business practice, not favoritism.
