X Closed until 2007.

X is currently undergoing "rehab" and won't be open until 2007. They are waiting on a part. I agree with reports that Six Flags is cost cutting on this one. Seems like NO part should take that long to receive. Maybe a good rehab is in order though.

That sucks. It's my favorite ride there, but I never get to go on it because it's always closed. It
It hasn't been open in the last 4 months.
This sucks because I go to my one a year trip to Magic Mountain in late December every year and X is always the coaster I run to when the gates open.

The last time it operated was August 17, 2006. Was that four months ago?

Go figure, I am finally going to check this park out for the first time next week and X is going to be closed.

Also noticed that the discount tickets that they are selling on the web site for $39 are valid only untill november 5th, but on the main page it says offer good untill dec 31'st.

I am already starting to add up the bad things on this park, and I have not even been there yet.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

^ You're going to make a pre-judgement about the park based on a closed roller coaster and some dates that don't match up on the web-site?
Crazy horse I was their 2 months ago.

Rides not to ride:

Phyclone: Reason: Rough as hell

Flashback (If its open i read that someone saw it running but cannot confirm this anywhere else what is known is if it has not run recently then its not run scince 2003) Also rough as hell!

Rides that are must ride:

X (If its open witch it probly will not be)

Goliath

Déja Vù (also a simi-rare run)

Tatsu

and scream is always a fun ride and the lines are short for it!

Kraxl, all you have been doing lately is talking down other people's negative comments about SFMM. Could it maybe have to do with your involvement with the park? While I like going to SFMM usually, the trip reports don't lie. There's a lot to not be happy about.
Dates not matching up on a website is a pretty big deal, especially because 99% of people get their information from there. That in turn leads to problems at guest servies, where from the trip reports a lot of the problems at the park are from.

Eh. No. I can admit to the place needing A LOT of work, but it throws me off when people that have never been to the park form a solid opinion against the park based on what other people have said. I've talked to people who've visited thinking the park would be a complete trashpit, but left having a great time, much to my astonishment even. I'm just saying, don't knock before you try it.

Fair enough. I agree it's annoying to read people bashing the park only to find they have never been, or the last time was 5 years ago.

I made the same mistake of pre-judging a park before I went. I was going to go to Six Flags Worlds of Adventure, but when I read a bunch of the trip reports, all I heard about was rides being closed, poor staffing, etc. I only went to Geauga Lake in the last two seasons, so I have no idea of what it used to be like. Should have gone and seen for myself.

Sucks that X is closed. At least, it seems, that it has been running better than in the past.

This park might be the most frustrating park I have ever been too. On one hand they have a handful of great rides and on the other hand they have no clue what is going on at the park. Tatsu, X, Goliath, Scream (If you look past the parking lot it sits on) Riddlers Revenge, Batman, are great rides but It's hard to truly enjoy the park when you see the piles of trash that are waiting to be picked up. When I was there in early June, there was ton of trash in / around Viper, the arrow mine ride hat tons of garbage around the station and under the track. You have coasters Ops that aren't sending the trains while they stand around talking to one another. The park seems to have no control and lack of authority. It seemed to have a lot of potential but Six flags continues to miss the boat with this park. Like I told a handful of people great rides bad park.

There is no such thing as a terrible Coaster just ones that haven't been taken care of

Belmont Babe and I rode X last spring, and we both agreed that it has become almost as brutal as Viper. As has been said before Arrows don't age well.
I have to agree. I rode X in June and didn't enjoy it one bit. It was a savage beating. Had it been smooth, I'm sure it would have been amazing.

I'm *certain* I've said this before....unless you ENJOY brutality (I'm not judging anyone, just commenting)....the INSIDE seats, closer to the center of gravity of the train, are *infinitely* smoother....by a WIDE margin.

Also, being at the end of the train that is YANKED down the first drop....while exhilarating, THAT is the bad end for "banginess"....

It's like many steel coasters... it falls down to train maintenance. Depending on the condition of the trains you may get a smooth or rough ride. So just because it has been running rough doesn't mean it is that the track has aged badly. I've ridden it on the same train in different rows on the same day and it varies car to car. Some of them were very rough, while some were very close to how it felt right after it opened.

What's wrong with forming an opinion about things that he has experienced? i.e. mismatched dates and closed rides. That's the impression he has of the park so far. What's wrong with that?

Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

My favorite seats on X are actually the outside seats on the back row.

It gives you the best view of the park and you get wiped around the first drop.
