X - Christmas Eve

Associated parks:
None

I just got back from the Christmas Eve X preview. I got in the season pass holders line to get into the park at 9:30 am and did not get on until 12:30 (and I got on the ninth train that the general public could ride)!!! The ride did not open until 10:30 and there were many problems with one of the trains causing 1 only being able to carry guests. The second train began taking guests at 12:30, right after I got on!!! Anyways, I sat in the front row and X is incredible. No words can describe X, except incredible, xtreme, and insane!!! The first drop is awesome, but the inline twist (or whatever you call it) is the best with the track twisting and the seats rotating!!! I got on a second time in the front row and the ride was just as great. The head engineer at Arrow Dynamics, I forget his name, Allen Sheecks (or something like that, was there along with many mechanics and other Arrow people working out all the problems with the trains.
I have a 1 1/2 minute video along with pictures that I will be posting over the next few days, so for all of you who have to wait, I'll have some pictures and videos for you to drool over.

The 1 train operation just shows how unreliable it will be.

I think the ride sounds great, it's just I doubt it'll be running often.

Have you thought about this being the first time this coaster has ran with guest in it or maybe that the ops are not up to par with running two trains might be why there was only one train running today? Were you there to see it run?
I fail to see why you think just because it was running one train that it will be unreliable coaster. Maybe you can explain in better detail on why you think it will be unreliable. Let's remember that this is the first day it was opened.
Happy Holidays.

Matthew, Can you tell me if there is any thmeing and if there is what is it. Thank You!!!
Dave, as you can see from his track record he is from cedar point.  He would hate to see anything six flags work correctly.
No...I like six flags just as much as cedar point. I've ridden more Six flags than CP.....

I was just giving my opinion....Jeez.....

hey pezmanguy. Please...with your attitude and since you're so sure how unreliable it will be....I hope you don't intend on riding it.....that's just one less person in line for the rest of us that knows this ride kicks major butt!

Why are so many people here so intent on X being a failure?

As far as any delays and such for today....only an idiot would not understand that being their first day letting riders on (gen. public, that is) there is bound to be some fine tuning needed . But to those who have nothing good to say for X...please don't ride it...help keep the lines shorter for those of us who appreciate this ride.

Actually, for a while I thought they weren't loading the second train because the ride-ops wouldn't be able to keep up, that was until I saw one of the mechanics trying to close a restraint, very hilarious and made the time pass a little since he tried every time the train was in the loading platform :)

Darn!  I'm jealous....I wish I had bought those $30 season passes from Ralphs....or was it Rite Aid?
It was both, I got mine from Rite Aid for $50 tho...

I don’t appreciate you stereotyping Cedar Point fans.  I’m a CP season pass holder and have nothing against Six Flag parks.  If I ever find myself in California, the first place I’m going is SFMM (even before Knott’s).

Glad too see that X was worth the wait.  I hope Six Flags builds one closer to my home someday.

Alan from Arrow [can't remember his last name] told me the restraints in the second train were "a little stiff" and needed a bit of adjustment.  I noticed not all of the OSTRs would pop open in the load area.  This problem is NOT unique to Arrow or the 4D.  There were restraint problems on SFMM's Deaj Vu and Goliath on media day.  Why couldn't those problems be worked out in advance?  I don't know.  I didn't ask him and I am not a coaster mechanic or engineer, so I'm not going to speculate.  The fact remains the second train was operational by midday and a third is coming soon.

Its natural to make asssumptions about a coaster who's opening has been long-delayed.  However unless you know for sure why problems exist perhaps the speculation and general negative sentiments about X and SFMM can be kept to a minimum?  The overwhelming opinion from those who have ridden X is very positive.  Its funny how some people just can't accept the truth.

I know the X preview went out to season pass holders, and goes through the first few days in January.  Will I still be able to use my 2001 pass on those first few days in Jan?  Anyone?

GhostriderCCI:  The answer is yes -- through Friday, Jan. 4th.
God Bless America.  Thanks.  I will be there on the 2nd then!
