I think it's safe to say that Lost Coaster at Indiana Beach is the most "custom" of coasters from CCI. It looks amazing! The way the whole ride is--going over the original horseshoe support structure, the huge elevator, the sudden drop at the back of the ride, the new station...I can't wait to ride it May 17th! I took some pics that I hope to have up by sometime this week. It seems as though work was going on inside the mountain today or not at all. It seemed to take a lot of people by surprise who were passing by!

CCI is not working today 5/5. Most of the crew is Hispanic and today is Cinco De Mayo (sp)
Work will resume Monday, the crew will be working from dusk to dawn 7 days a week. And although much needs to be done, Tom Spackman Jr says it will be done by 5/17.

If Tom says so, then I trust him :) It was very cool to see Lost Coaster up and close though...I like the station area; it looks very unique!
Carol - do you know if they are going to continue working on the theme this year or just do it next year?

At this time all the park wants to do is get the track done, the trains on site and testing completed. All this in 11 days. Yikes!
Theming & beautification for Lost Coaster will take place in the off-season. The park is not sure how much theming they are going to do, some of the "gags" could be lost on riders speeding by. I look for the theming to be an on-going project, for at least a couple of years.
As for Mr. rollergator, I would have never guessed your last name was german/hispanic. :-)
Here are a couple pics. There is a picture of some of the crew that was working of the 4th. Most of these are of other things at IB from opening day. The Galaxi sign is down by the way and sitting in a pavilion. Yes it is only 2 weeks away; I was going crazy on Saturday looking at it from the Hurricane and the sky lift.

Carol hit the nail on the head. I know Tom, Jr. has been asked--ad nauseum-- about whether or not it will be ready for the 17th, Media Day. I asked *at least* 3 times! I also asked if the doors would be put back on. On the original Superstition Mountain there were (I hope I get this right): 1 set double doors entering 3rd floor; 1 set exiting 2nd; 2 sets exiting 3rd. Tom said this was also a wait and see. Theming or not, this will be an "Indiana Jones" type-runaway mine ride: passages of light and dark; sudden drops and twists.
The tight fit through the earthquake room alone has me trembling.

Ya, they take all the lights down for the winter and cover the outlets with plastic. They are currently closing at 6:00pm so have no need for them yet, but they will be in place by the 17th I'm sure.
