I'm going to Mineapolis area on the 11th. I'm just wondering if I should go to Valleyfair. I mean it looks like a great park and all but it will make our schedule a lot harder. We probably will end up going there but is there anything we should know about.
Also, any tips would be greatly appreciated.
(This would be my first time to Valleyfair if we go)

A classic woodie, a Morgan hyper, a mouse, an overgrown Arrow mine train, a corkscrew/looper, S&S tower, nice selection of flats...yeah, it sounds pretty boring, might as well skip it.

It certainly isn't a 'destination' park--but if you're in Minneapolis anyway, you might as well give it a go.
The hyper has its good days and bad days. Train #2 tends to be the best of the three. Riding at night gives you the best odds of avoiding the dreadful overbraking. The rear car gives you the air you used to get in the middle from '96-'99.
You won't be standing in (very) long lines, there won't be as many coasters so you can get through the whole park in a half-day easily....if you skip the only part of the park worth mentioning, that is.
Dress in swimwear and take in the few advantages this park has over SFGAM: Water. Ride the Hydroblaster wet/dry slides, the Raging Rapids tube slide and Hurricane Falls (family-sized tube slide). If you're boarding the Panic Falls speed slides (not the twisty ones), you can cut through the line right to the front with the park's blessing.
Best bet is to either purchase discount tickets at Cub Foods ($22) or visit after 5 ($17). Fridays and Saturdays with midnight closings also feature a late-night dance party in the ampitheater. I have no idea how well-received they've been.

Yes. If your coming to Minnesota I'd say make a stop. You'll enjoy Wild Thing. There is some decent amount of air time on it along with High Roller which is our classic and Excalibur which is insane but short and we have one of the nicest Arrow coasters Corkscrew very smooth but also short. My favorite is our S&S Power Tower give that a try also. If you go during the week lines should be pretty much a walk on's Wild Thing maybe 15minutes at most. Sat & Sun are the busyest. We are also a very clean park and employees are friendly and as coastaplaya said Cub Foods is offerying discounts tickets.
