Worlds of Fun 6/27 I Feel So Jazzed and So Hollow

Worlds of Fun a park in which I can only describe as a giant chocolate covered Easter Bunny. However Worlds of Fun is not the type of chocolate covered Easter Bunny that contains chocolatey goodness throughout, but rather a rabbit that contains the sugary sweetness on the outside, but contains an empty innard.

First off the park was sparkly clean, and quite frankly I was impressed. Worlds of Fun looked cleaner then the Point did on my last visit. So definetly a plus for Worlds of Fun there. Also whoever is in charge of signage at the park is doing a fantastic job as the shops looked great as did all the ride logos. Best ride logos in the business if you ask me.

Also Worlds of Fun is teeming with charachter. So much so, that you can see it before you even pull into the parking lot. Worlds of Fun has a lot of nifty nooks and crannies that I really liked. I like parks that are a bit eccentric and Worlds of Fun definetly falls into this category.

I must give props to the food and merch departments at the park which were doing a fantastic job throughout the day. The folks in games were unenergetic and the people in rides were for the most part slow and/or simply incompetent (save the Mamba, Monsoon, and Thunderhawk crew who were excellent.)

The hollow feeling lies within the rides themselves. Boomerang's entrance plaza looked done really well, but once you actually get to the ride you feel like you've just run into a travelling carnival. Boomerang is out of place as of right now. If they try and landscape the ride area a little better I think this would blend in nicely. This was my first boomerang. I was left with the impression that its a fun ride, but its not something I think I'd want to reride.

Mamba was probably the biggest letdown for me in the park. Mamba's setting was pretty neat, and I really liked the sign. The crew was fantastic, but the ride itself (in my opinion) doesn't hold a candle to Magnum or Wild Thing as I felt zip for airtime even after trying out a couple of different spots. However the helix is nuts and Mamba should be ridden for that alone.

Timberwolf is a rough ride, lets not kid ourselves about that, but it does deliver tons of airtime. Front seat is the place to be on this ride. Fun ride, rough, but extremely fun. In my opinion the best ride at the park.

Orient Express would be the ride that I'd want to work at if I were to work at Worlds of Fun. This coaster has lots of charachter. Fun ride from the backseat as you get good air. The helix on this ride seems all wrong, but let us not forget that Orient used to be known as the end all steel coaster back in the day. It still packs a punch, and is a must do.

All in all I figure Worlds of Fun is a park that I'll revisit the next time they do something big or if I hear that they've managed to inject some chocolate into this hollow bunny.

I like the coasters they have at WOF, though I haven't tested out the Boomerang, but the biggest thrill I get is an old "carnie-like" ride they have called the bamboozler. I am generally prone to motion sickness but I could easily ride this white spinning gravitron-like ride all day. And by far my favorite coaster is Orient Express. It's a combination of the Corkscrew and Excalibur at VF...anyways WOF is filled with lots of great memories for me.

Good TR. Sorry you didn't like Mamba. When we were there it was great. I had nothing but air time. Maybe I got lucky.

I thought Mamba was great, with loads of Airtime, much better than Steel Force.

OE is just wild, but I really loved the Cloodpoofer2000. I laughed the whole ride.

Whats life if you never get to the Po!nt?
