One night driving home, (I live near Granada Studios Tours) I glanced up, and .......'ckinell....! Thats *%'in coaster track!!!
It was skytrak, a unique coaster where you rode in a hanglider type contraption. When construction was complete, I was staggerring home a few Friday nights later at 3 in the morning, and it was testing!
I heard that the engineer behind the project was the first to ride, and due to the strong and sudden braking of the system (it was full of trims, all along the track..) suffered a convulsed spine. The problems were corrected, and the coaster eventually opened.
However, the capacity of this ride was obviously attrocious, and the rest of the attractions at Granada weren't of a very high standard, so sadly the park closed about 18 months later. The ride was demolished, and nothing heard of it since....
Does anyone know what happened to the ride...?FACTS about the closure/rumours above? Pics?
check this out if you haven't seen this before...
