I know about the Shooting Star at Coney Island in Cincy, and the CI Cyclone, and the Bobs at Riverview Park. They have given rise to many coasters that were based on their layouts. Rampage is based largely on the design of Megafobia. The original Mr. Twister gave its legacy to Twiter and Twister II. What coasters were designed based on the Shooting Star and The Bobs, and can you think of more that derived their heritage from other wooden coasters?

Truthfully, The Wildcat at Coney Island Cincinnati gave more offspring than it's counterpart Shooting Star.
Good topic though. I really think Wolverine Wildcat could be one hell of a ride if it wasn't for the Dinn track. It is so obviously bassed on the Phoenix it's pathetic although the layout dose not figure eight.
Chuck, who will be interested to follow this topic :)

Wolverine Wildcat at MA is based on the Phoenix.
I'm pretty sure that Timber Wolf and Grizzly are loosely based on a couple of the PTC "Wildcat" designs, but I'm not sure which ones.

Do you have stairs in your house?
TDZ has a left 90 degree turn into the lift, Timberwolf station and lift are in a single line.
TDZ is mirrored ( Timberwolf turns to the left and drop, TDZ to the right ).
TDZ has a similar layout, but is tighter more intense and also a bit longer.
Also, 2 major differences: Timberwolf has PTC trains with headrests! Tonnerre de Zeus got PTC without headrests.
Timberwolf has a trim brake on the first drop, TDZ is allowed to rip apart from the first drop ( into a tunnel ) into the final brake run ( did I mention the brake run moves a good 3 to 4 inches when a train is stopped? )
