Woman sues Six Flags worlds of Adventure for injury in 2000

A Wisconsin woman was allegedly struck in the face with rocks, then thought to be a cell phone, when riding The Villain roller coaster at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure in 2002. She accuses the park of negligence, saying the park knew of people throwing rocks on four earlier occasions.

And another thing, is that I take off my glasses on coasters. LAST thing I want is something striking me in my eye. That happens, I will sue for more.

Take your glasses off? I wish I could do that, but I'm blind. On several rides, the ops try to convince me to take 'em off, but they're strapped on & I wouldn't be able to see without them. Besides, I've had about half a dozen little >CLINKS< with my lenses, that could've been eyeball.

The parks should potect riders from projectiles of this sort. Be it rocks from hoodlum wannabes, coins from gravity curious idiots, or chunks of mystery asphalt.

I would like to clarify a few things to all who read this. First, the lawsuit states that the woman is suing for an amount IN EXCESS of $25,000, but this is the highest amount that they can publicly disclose. She could be suing for $25 million! I would try to get all I could out of those people. I have hated SFWoA since they took it over. I live a half-hour from it and I drive to CP every other weekend, if not more (which is about 70 miles away). I went to SFWoA in the summer of 2000 and the place was trashed (poorly maintained), it was over-crowded and full of discourteous, unruly people. The rides were not well-maintained. The ride policies that were used there were poor. I just didn't want to be there. I have heard that things have improved, but apparently not. If there was a problem with rock-throwing, then you remove the rocks. I had heard that the rocks were thrown from a picnic pavilion that was next to the track. So you move the pavilion and remove the problem. Now it will cost them alot more than moving a pavilion. I think the woman who got hurt deserves every dime she gets and then some. She went through a lot of pain and suffering. She deserves to be properly compensated.
I just wanna ask this:
WHAT KIND OF ****ING IDIOT WOULD THROW ROCKS AT A SPEEDING ROLLER COASTER?(sorry about the caps) Don't they know they could kill somebody?

I always wear my sunglasses on the coasters. Even if they force me to remove them, I put them right back on after hitting the lift hill. I have never had a problem with them coming off during any coaster I've ridden. I wear them so I can actually see during the ride and because I wear contacts, it helps prevent them from drying out.

Other loose articles, I agree with not taking on. However, my wife has had problems taking on her waist pack before. Not sure what they're thinking there, unless they think that for some unknown reason a belt clip would suddenly burst and despite it being wrapped around her, would go flying off. Oh well.

How long is the wait time from this point?

Riding with contacts, >PHEW!<. At a younger age, I always wore contacts. We went to SFoG back in '94-'95, easy to say it was the LAST time I ever wore the cursed things. Glasses are much better for seeing with, LOL, & boy(!), those things dry you out like no other. The wind whipping through your eyes with those things floating around in there, it's very uncomfortable, almost impossible to hold the eyes open at all. It's not even out of fear that they'll pop out, they never pop out, they've gotta roll around in there & cause annoyance, popping out would be too easy.

Just why, though, do some people think it's good that SFWoA is being sued? Granted, they should handle thier issues, but why would you act like you're glad? Is it revenge for your "horrible days", or something else? It's never good when lawsuits are involved. Lawsuits suck, any bad publicity sucks, over thought out & over played criticisms also suck. People can think way too much. "My this & my that, & if anybody anythings I'll sue them for everything they're worth" is a train of thought people need to drop. It's gross. In the event something should happen, calmly wait it out, when you just can't resolve things to get you back to where you were before said 'incident', or there's a cost involved directly to your pockets, or if the park knew of an outstanding problem situation, THEN file lawsuit. Otherwise, there's a problem with looking for problems.
