WOF/Camp Snoopy spinning coasters

Over at thrillride.com, there are some pretty good shots of Timberland Twister, the new Gerstlauer spinning coaster at Knott's Camp Snoopy. The ride looks awesome, especially one section that features this insane-looking downward spiral. Is Worlds of Fun getting the exact same ride, or was the Camp Snoopy version designed specifically for that park, which obviously has some space limitations?

I may be wrong [once I thought I was wrong but was mistaken] but I believe the WoF coaster is identical.

Weird....I was under the mis-impression that Spinning DragonS (note emphasis) meant that the WoF version was racing and/or dueling. I guess each CAR is referred to as a Dragon, hence the plural is for each car....

These rides look like FUN....gonna be BIG hits...:)

Aside from custom tweaking for each site they're the same. Check out the latest issue of AT for a diagram in Gerstlauer's ad.

I always thought they were different, especially since Camp Snoopy has all those interferences. Guess I wasn't looking hard enough at the pix.

I thought that the Maurer-Sohne (sp?) spinning coasters looked cool, but these are even cooler! I like the fact that the riders face each other.

Gerstlauer seriously is the next B&M. I'm not even kidding a little bit.

The cars are ridiculously tight in that video. At least two of them that are now loose enough to make me giggle like a ninny.

But the restraints are my biggest complaint. They're comfortable, they're safe--but because they restrain you by the thighs, you aren't gonna get much air.

And just look at their other models: Vertical drops, circular loops, zero-G rolls and no Vekoma vibration for maybe half B&M's price? Just watch how many G-coasters SF orders next year.

Well, better than a sharp stick in the eye.

Nothing wrong with a Crazy Mouse. I'll take one of them over a number of larger steel coasters anyday.

I agree, especially our version in the much smaller former ET building. Not a whole lot of room for any significant sized drops.

Yep, the two are exactly the same. Compare the photos at coastergallery.com (TT) to the ones at midwestinfoguide.com (SD) and you will see the similarities. Though with SD being outside, it LOOKS bigger.

All I can say is who cares about Camp Snoopy. SFGA is getting a new spinning wild mouse. Another coaster for SFGA. If we keep this up we may some day catch up to CP and SFMM. However it is extremly unlikely.

Who cares about Camp Snoopy? Um...99.5% of the people on this site!
