WoF - 4/26/03

Associated parks:
None

I happened to be in KC for business and extended my trip so I could go to WoF.

I got to the park just before 9:00 when they opened the parking lot. I quickly made my way to the season pass purchasing/processing area and bought my Park/water park combo pass. (I'll be using it at VF! and CP later this year)...

Went into the park when the opened the gates (9:30), and was nicely suprised at how well it was themed...very picturesque park...

Went all the way to the back to ride Mamba. It opened right at 10:00. Oh My God...that was a fun ride...great airtime in the last row....I power rode it six laps with no lines before I decided to move on (but vowed to return)...

Did Boomerang for the credit...yawn...

Rode Detonator, just for grins..I don't know what I love more about these rides, riding them - or watching people as they get launched... ;) ;)

10:40a - Went to TimberWolf...loved it. Insane air pops in a couple of sections. Rode it three times in a row...

11:15 - Rode Cyclone Sam's...fun...neat blacklight effects

11:35 - Went to the fron of the park to ride Orient Express...CLOSED...ALL DAY...Techincal Issues....GRR.. Headed back to Mamba

11:45 - Got in line for Mamba...about a 25 minute wait...they were only running two trains and they were consistently stacking...how the couldn't get one train out before the other came back had me baffled...got back in line and rode it one more time - 20 minute wait...

12:40 - Went back to Timber Wolf and got a back seat ride - 15 minute wait - INSANE air..

1:00 - Decided to go to the airport early and try to catch an earlier flight home (Flight was supposed to be 5:00 - I knew there was 3:15 as well)

I then bid adieu to WoF and high-tailed it to the airport. As luck turned out, I was able to get onto the 3:15, and got home early and pleasantly suprised my wife...

THE END

The Oreint Express has been down for weeks. I do not know what is going on with this ride. It closed down on the night of April 12th and hasn't reopened since then. I sure it they get it going again soon.

BTW, How many trains were they running on the Timber Wolf?
