WoF - 4/17/05 - EMPTY

Associated parks:
None

We drove from Lawrence KS and got to the park at around 11. We already had our season passes processed so we walked right in.
We headed back towards the Mamba but we realized the Detonator had around 3 people in line so we caught a ride. We then made it to the Mamba, and we got in on the last row after a two train wait. Rode this a few more times then rode a few flats, including Thunderhawk (great program for a topspin, and the water was running), bamboozler, and Zula. All were walk-ons.
After the flats we headed to the Timberwolf. It may be rough but I still love that ride. It was a walk on, and we took 4 rides. After that we rode Boomerang, your typical Vekoma Boomerang, but a little rough. It was a walk-on as well with only a few people in the station.
Then we headed back to the Mamba for 8 more rides. It really is a great Morgan Hyper, but it would be even better if they cut the trims out or at least tuned them down before the bunny hills. Anyways left the park at around 7 after 4 or 5 more walk-on rides on the Detonator, and a few more Timberwolf rides. When we entered the Timberwolf station at 6:45 or so there were ZERO people in it, and there was an empty train waiting.
Heh, anyways it was a pretty good day at WoF, we're going again next weekend, probably every weekend until they open for weekdays.

(+s)
all walk-ons
great atmosphere
friendly and helpful staff

Too many people begging you to play games and take pictures lol...
Mamba was only running one train
Boomerang is getting a little painful

At SFA, the people that take pictures are paid by the number of pictures they take, not by the number of pictures people buy. I'd guess many other parks do the same thing, hence why they seem so eager to take your pic. Just consider that you stopping for a few moments to let someone take your pic could be helping to pay their income...

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

no people is why they don't need a new coaster to enjoy, That is IMO!
Oh I know - and I did stop for the first couple of people but when they start popping up randomly around the park it gets a little irritating.

haha I know they need a new coaster. Maybe a B&M invert next year? YEAH RIGHT lol

Yea, and um.. it's early in the season, a lot of parks are "deserted". The park will still have its good days coming up..

Really?! That's crap! I usually just give them a polite but sharp 'no, thank-you' and hurry on by. But if just the act of taking the picture w/o me buying pays their salary, I'll spare the second it takes!

Well, Sunday is never busy at WoF, but I did get quite a few people coming through Mamba, as usual.

Things will heat up by Memorial Day, though, as always.

PKI pays them by number taken as well, but I always blow right by them. They get on my nerves.
Eveyone Is at Silver Dollar City, The park was packed from front to back on 04-17-05 (around 21,000) . With Worlds of Fun's lame rides I am not surprised. They are fools for taking OE out. RIP Wof.

when i go to a park i usually pull one of the hot photographer girls next to me and let someone take a pic:)

Silver Dollar City is packed because of World Fest.
