Wisconsin Dells

Im going to The Kalahari Resort this weekend and just noticed Avalanche might be open if weather permits. I just wanted to know if it would be worth going to Timber Falls for since it will be the only ride open. I really haven't heard a lot about this coaster and just wanted to know if it was worth it. Sorry if this is already a topic I searched for it but couldn't find it.

IF it IS open. Avalanche is certrainly worth the trip alone. I ranked it number 3 in Mitch's poll out of approximately 100 woodies I've ridden. Yeah, it's good stuff.

I thought Avalanche was better than any of the four woodies at Big Cheifs.

I wouldn't rate Avalanche above Hades, but it is very good. The best thing about Tinmber Falls is that the crowds are seldom large. The bracelet can be one of the great coaster deals around.

Last summer we rode 65 times in one day. 41 of those without getting back in line. The bracelet was $15. That was less than .25 per ride!! If Avaalanche is open this early in the season, you may have a similar experience.

Avalanche was giggly fun! I was there in July 05 on a Saturday night and there was never a line. I often stayed in my seat. It's a peppy little coaster with all left turns and some mean airtime. Let us know what you think if you got the chance to ride it this weekend.

Yes! Without a doubt and by a decent margin even. :)

I love it when you agree with me ;)
It's a GREAT ride! Just watch out for some of those square turns!
I just got a reply from the park it wont be open because of work they are doing on it. Guess i'll have to wait untill this summer when I go to Mt. Olympus to ride Avalanche.

Do you guys know what else there is to do at the dells thats open now. *** Edited 3/25/2007 6:02:14 PM UTC by coasterkid92***

The downtown area is pretty crazy. Lots of places to eat and buy stuff at kinda like a smaller Pigeon Forge.

There are a bunch of cheesy haunted houses all over the place (pretty much just dark winding walkways with an area next to them where a person can follow you, yell and growl.) I'm not sure what all is open in the off tourist season though.

Seriously the last time I was at the Kalahri (a few weeks ago) we brought a card deck with us and with it we had some mean hearts games every night. Between the water park, sleep, basketball (conference tourney week) and cards we filled up the weekend.

Isn't there a indoor park in Mt. O?
