Wisconsin-based Great Lakes Companies, Inc., wants to build a resort with 300 rooms and a year-round, 55,000-square foot water park near Paramount's Kings Island. The company is asking the county for a break from its water connection fees.

Sounds like a direct competion with Castaway Bay at CP for PKI. Still seems nice though,

Uh, no, the competition would be the other two year-round water parks already in or under construction in Sandusky (one of which I think is owned by this company... I assume "Great Bear" is the same people).
They are the people who own "Great Bear". Got another article from the Cincinnati Enquirer.

So wait besides Castaway Bay and Great Bear is there another indoor waterpark in Sandusky?

You know there building some type of new indoor water park resort by the Mall of America in Minnesota. It was on the news a while back. But I couldnt remember were there building it.

Yes, there's another company building a third resort in Sandusky. The name escapes me.
If my memory serves me correctly, the water park is supposed to be near Bogart Rd., close to the Plum Brook NASA station. I think the Sandusky Rag said it would be larger than Great Bear. However, it was over a year ago that I lived in Sandusky, so I could be quite wrong.

The third Resort will be a Kalahari Resort, similar to the one in the Wisconsin Dells.
Well, I will say this much, if this deal does go through, I think the chances that Winterfest may make a return are greatly enhanced by this.
Yup. Because people will already be in the area.
PKI is my home town park I think if the Resort is built it will bring in a bigger crowd and if it is built it spells WinterFests long waited return.
