We got to Williams Grove around 3pm and paid the $10 for the all day wristband. Williams Grove is in the perfect setting for a traditional park from the 20's and 30's. They have huge trees in the park and lots of grass areas for picnicing. Our first ride of the day was Dante's Inferno their classic style dark ride. For some reason the cars vibrate and squeal around the entire course. The stunts are probably the wost i've seen anywhere they are basicly haloween masks that a light shines on and the move up and down. It's fun to ride and laugh at how horrible it is.
--Our next ride was on the infamous Cyclone. It amazing this is still standing for the shape its in. The trains are ancient PTC's I believe from the Cyclone at Pallisides Park in NJ. The lap bars have red duct tape wrapped around the metal for padding and they have lots of play in them when locked. When the train climbs the lift the track zig zags left and right like all old woodies do. This one even goes up and down because of the sagging track! At the top of the lift their is a slow turnaround. When sitting in the front seat you can see the track spliced together with smaller sections. It's funny because some of the track is narrow about 2 inches wide and others are 3 or 4 inches wide! The drop is decient for the size and actually rides VERY smooth for the condition (the tow turnaround are painted while the center of the coaster is nonpainted and looks fairly new). On some parts of the Cyclone you can actually see the layers of wood the track sits on vibrate before the train goes over it! On the far turnaround it screaches like no other coaster I've ridden. On the return to the station the track goes directly under the other section of track. There are several bunny hops with trims on them followed by a steep hill that levels off. The hill actually comes to a point and levels off before hitting the final brakes. The trims were actually on harder this time than last season. If you going to Hersheypark a stop at this park is well worth it. The ride times are long about 4-5 minutes each and the ops usually let you reride if you want. You never have to wait long either usually until the ride stops.
