"Pt 2, Congratulations, the update on Operation WT didn't escape my notice....great work!"

Thanks Gator!!! I have already noticed some of the effect of my weight loss when I was down in your homestate riding some of my favorite B&M's which were really snug last year. Montu and Kraken last year I needed assistance to snap the buckle on the restraint. This year I had no problems and I could actually get another click in the restraints if I really wanted it :) Still have a bit to go before I fit into those damnable Intiman restraints though :)

Congrats, Bob! I believe I mentioned my husband has the same goal...to fit into WT...has lost 27 pounds since 1-10-03. We are confident he'll be able to fit int WT by May.

As for traveling, if I had the money to fly somewhere (las vegas, CA, FLA) I wouldn't think twice about it. I'd even put up with the extra time it takes going through security. Although my husband and I found a slight trick...take the red eyes. Detroit Metro is practially dead between midnight and 4 am.

Well my annual trip to Europe may either be cancelled or partially elimnated.... Im a Goliaholic.... hopefully ill still make it there and also to Phantasialand..... hopefully the war will be finished by then..... as for homeland park-visiting I'll be going to Dollywood and PC no matter what the circumstances.....
My daughter crystal and her friend peter, were selected as finalists on the Discovery Channel Reality Show, "Thrill Rides, Put to the Test. They leave monday morning to SFMM to film the show and they are going. Discovery Channel has no plans of cancelling anything and neither do we. Would think alot about flying overseas, but within the US, still feel safe, especailly now. Security at the airports might be a bit of a hassle, but really, at least i know they are doing there jobs, to make sure things are safe.

I was more referring to the inconvenience of 3-hour security lines, etc, than fear, although it is good to see that the American spirit reigns supreme amongst coaster enthusiasts. :)

Its not quite the American spirit.. ;) I'm not worried about long security lines, that doesn't seem to be a problem at Schiphol (Amsterdam) or Barajas (Madrid), the airports I'll be flying to / from.

No way... Not one bit. I'm going down to West Palm Beach today, although I have a layover in Orlando. I'm not worried about anything really. Infact I was hoping on getting up to Downtown Disney sometime next week. But, it doesn't look like it'll happen. It just bothers me how some people become paranoid about it. *Cough Parents Cough*

Parents tend to worry, moreso when there's a perceived threat. My mom was MAD at me for going through with my London trip in 12/01. Too bad.

No effect on my travel plans, unless it drives the airlines I have flights on out of business :(

Could be worse pricewise, my neighbor has a Stradavarius violin! $3.5 Million! It's on permenant loan to him, so he didn't pay for it. But, each of his three bows cost more than $10,000.

My mother has a number of violins (she's a concert violinist, though none of them are Stradavarius, much to her chagrine), each well into the 6 figure range, and bows near the 5 figure range. She and my father moved to Germany a few years back, and they wouldn't let her bring the violins or bows as carry ons, and this was before the whole terrorism scare (1996, I believe). Thankfully, they didn't get damaged being checked in, and she had to get some huge amount of insurance on them before they flew.

I'm glad to hear that the airports are much nicer to you about your guitar, especially with all the airport horror stories I hear now...

nope
The lil lady and I actually added two trips to this years plans once the travel industry started forcasting a decrease in business.

This year will probably be a great time to hit all of the really crowded parts of the country.

Not at all. If anything, it is making me want to travel more, knowing that alot of people are more hesitant=more ride time and less lines :-) I wasn't afraid to travel after 9/11 either-just didn't scare me even though emotionally hit me hard.

how do you insert smiley faces?

No it didn't affect my desire to travel. Why would I let some Iraqi dictator choose where I can and can't go. I went to SDC on Tue, Thur, Fri, and Sat. the only thing SDC did was checked our bags as we went in due to increased security.

not at all. Flew to LAX in 3/02, had a lot more security than Hopkins. Went to the WDW & City Walk 4th of july fireworks last year. WDW was easily one of the top 10 safest locations that day, each park had 3 helicopters constantly circling, with 2 on downtown disney. And im going to WDW in 3 days. Not scared at all

no way...I am flying tomorrow!

whoo...just like to say that in as many places possible...

Well, as of no, no changes will take place.

I have tickets to go from Cincinnati to Las Vegas in May. Unless something unforseen happens I fully intend on going. Just yesterday I went to a stadium grand opening that was said to attract 80,000.

But then I also flew internationally (to Italy) two months after 9/11, in fact on the day the plane crashed in Queens, NY.

My outlook on life "When your number is up, your number is up, and there is nothing you can do about it, so enjoy it" or in LotR speak "yours is but to decide what to do with the time you are given"
