Will TTD be open for Coastermania?

i have heard some of the things that have happened to xcelerator...as in the problems with the hydraulic launcher and stuff...do you think it will happen again for TTD? or will it run just fine. Do you think it will be open for Coastermania? if not i will be very dissapointed. I think it will be on the top of CP's list to get the ride running for coastermania if it does break down or have problems...let me know what you think.

it should be open, or at least it better because we get like 3 hours of ERT at the beginning of the day, might I add Coastermania is the highlight of my 11 park coaster filled summer!
To me, this is one of those questions where you need the magic 8 ball to get an answer. Unexpected mechanical problems can occur without warning.

Absolutly, lets not forget last years incident when Millennium Force suddenly went down when the cable snapped on the lift hill, with CoasterMania just days away. Sadly the ride was not operational on that day.

I think if it did happen, CP will open more rides as compenation. I think last year CP opened Vertigo for free, they opened Blue Streak and gave out vouchers for a free ride on Milly when it was operational on a normal park visit so if something should happen, you might get some good compensation :)

That's odd, PaulD. I rode Millennium Force at CoasterMania last year. Wicked Twister was down for CoasterMania last year, and they gave is a dark Mean Streak. In my opinion, it was a much better ride.

I think he means 2 years ago. I was on Perimeter Rd. going to pick up my GF at Sandcastle and I saw employees comming down in the little lift hill cart thing.
The cable on MF broke before Millennium Mania in 2001, not Coaster Mania in 2002.

CP is usually pretty good at maintenance, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Well, I used to be able to see TTD from my house, then I moved.
Life's not fair.

Its not very likely to happen, but like its been pointed out, Cedar Point's top rides have been down for Coastermania in the past, so anything can happen. Last year CP offered Mean Streak completely in the dark to make up for WT. I'm not a huge fan of MS, but those were definately the best rides I've ever had on it.

Of course it will be be closed for Coastermania, because I'm going.

I've been to Cedar Point three times: 2000 - Millennium Force closed, 2001 everything open, but it rained most of the day, 2002 - Wicked Twister closed, 2003 - TTD ???

Hopefully I'll be made to eat my words, or worse still - muffelheads!

Grant: Please don't go! Coastermania is probably our only trip to CP this year and we want to ride TTD, MF, etc. :)

You were at Cedar Point the one day MF was closed in 2000? Wow, that's pretty bad luck.

Yeah, lol, and he came from frickin' England too! Then last year at Coastermania! WT was down alllll day, so no ride on that. Maybe third time's a charm, eh Grant? :)

Since Intamin has been the featured player in Coatermania downtime, I can only assume it's TTD's turn!

I dunno redman....I think THAT particular *Arrow* hit the target squarely...;)

For MY tastes, Intamin provides a more thrilling ride, but they really haven't been the ultimate in reliability...no matter the park or chain, their rides just seem *buggier* than the Beemers...of course, Intamin takes more "risks", too...;)
