Unlikely that SF could do anything here, the tourism industry demands high levels of customer service and guest satisfaction. I don't think they could compete in that area under current SF mgmt. Of course, once I take over SF, things will change...(always hoping)!

Unless Six Flags Inc. buys out an amusement park in Florida, there will NEVER be a Six Flags park in Florida. Six Flags does not build parks (unless they buy a park that is being built, such as WB Movie World).

The Orlando area is too crowded as it is... I don't care how much tourism has grown in that area during the past decade or so, eventually a level of saturation is going to be reached. There is already Sea World, Universal, IOA, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM, and Animal Kingdom. Disney and Universal will most likely add new parks in the future, and don't forget that Busch Gardens Tampa is only a short drive away. Honestly, I'm surprised that there are enough people to support all of those parks!
I suppose it is possible that Six Flags (or any other park chain, for that matter) could build a new park somewhere else in Florida... but the only logical place would be in Northern Florida, and that might be too close to SFOG.
Personally, I would be very happy with what I had if I was in Florida, because I don't think that many enthusiasts would take a Six Flags park over IOA or Busch!

With Six Flags planning to cut back on capital investment, a Florida park seems very unlikely. The cost for a competitive park in Florida is probably at least $300,000,000. I honestly hope that Six Flags doesn't do such a thing since it would starve all of their other parks for capital.

They did have water park in Florida, Six Flags Atlantis. But Six FLags could NEVER compete with Disney, Universal or Busch

Rob Ascough, SFoG is almost 8 hours' drive from Orlando. There is a park halfway between though, Wild Adventures in Valdosta. Started out as a petting zoo, and just got their first CCI, Cheetah (hopefully not their last, ;~)!

I think if six flags makes a move in FL it will be near Jack-Ville, or Miami.
