Like weren't the markers spray painted on the ground a couple months ago right around the time of the CF purchase which looked like those you'd find for coaster support footings?
Funny you mention a hyper. We - as in me and my girl - have been going to Carowinds all our lives, and didn't really bother with SFoG. On my part it was because I had a really bad experience there long ago that really made me anti-SF for a long time. Anyhoo, as we were enjoying a great day at Carowinds a few weeks ago, she busted out with "Man, Carowinds is great. I just wish Goliath was here"
So if the rumors are true, and I'd imagine a theoretical hyper would be a B&M since Paramount doesn't deal with Intamin much, maybe she'll get something close to her wish. :D
Yeah, Paramount doesn't deal with Intamin much. But unless Carowinds sealed the deal before the CF buyout, you're suddenly looking at new ownership that has what has to be considered a pretty strong relationship with the company.
I am not so sure just becasue CF bought out the park they would cancel something like new roller coaster unless it was the rumored move of FOF going to Carowinds in which case I am glad that they cancelled that. I think Carowinds needs a new woodie more so than a hyper in my opinion, a wooden twister would really go great in that park, probably more so than a hyper in my opinion.

God, I hope they don't get a woodie. Hurler's only about ten years old and is already junk. When I last rode Thunder Road it was squealing like a pig turning out into the lift hill. Howsabout they get the ones they have running well before building more?
I like the idea of an Intamin hyper most, or perhaps a rocket of some sort, but would be cool with another Beemer hyper in my area.
If you've been to carowinds before you'll know what I mean,
When I think of Paramonts Carowinds I think of movies and that sort of thing. when i went last they really where out of this world, hint hint... says that I got to talk to a klingnon, and a volcan and watch them fight each other they keep the Star Trek Theme and build more roller coasters and other attractions .
Umm you hope they don't get a new woodie? Why not? Woodies have been really raking in good ratings lately..VOYAGE..I mean they could build sometihng on a smaller scale and it would be great. I don't know when the last time you went to Carowinds but last time I went Hurler was running fine and Thunder Road was EXCELLENT!! I mean it is a WOODEN roller coaster it is going to squeek rattle and shake...DUH..
I'm doubtful that anything big was planned to go into PCar when Paramount owned it. I haven't heard anything at work about a new coaster, and with something that big, we would have been involved by now.

I went about two months ago which isn't that long go and all the coasters were excellent. It bothers me when people think that wood coasters aren't running good just because they are now spoiled and used to smooth steal coasters which fail to shake you up.
Dude, don't play that card with me. I've been going to Carowinds since before it was Paramount's Carowinds. I remember when Hurler didn't suck. It does suck now. Period.
A little roughness, alot of "throwing you around" ? Fine. Feeling as if you're riding a jackhammer? Not so much.
I mean, I like the Georgia Cyclone, and it's certainly not silky smooth. Hurler's just unbearably rough.
