Will the Hurricane effect any parks?

SFA didn't open on 9/19, because I was told we had no power the day before, and I'm guessing they didn't want to take chances for the buyout, or were told that power wouldn't be restored for Saturday. Let me tell you, it was so much fun bailing out two sump pumps in my house for hours on end, due to lack of power.

Schools here in Maryland were probably smart to close Thursday. The winds were getting fairly high by late in the day and school buses are not the best vehicles at dealing with side gusts.

We got remarkably little rain, just a few inches at most. Flooding was confined to areas right on the bay where the tidal surge had its effect. No major wind damage around Baltimore. A lot of power lines are down though. Have any parks had to close due to lack of power?

Peabody: I was in a 12th floor apartment (Dell House @ Charles & 29th) for Agnes. They were too cheap to maintain the weather proofing, and the rain just poured in. The farther down in the building you were the worse it was. The basement garage was a rain forest.

We really got off lucky in my area, unlike those in fairfax or DC we never lost power thank god & we didn't have any water problems like they did in fairfax.

There was little if any rainfall in the area & the winds weren't as bad, because as soon as the storm made landfall it moved up through the area faster than expected, but it still was a long night.

I-fan:how bad is the flooding in your area? we were lucky enough not to have any in my neck of the woods, for us the storm was more bite & less bark.

More bark than bite, perhaps?

Chernabog thanks for pointing that error out for me,I hadn't realized the mistake until just now when I looked at it.

Of course you all knew what I was trying to say,I just got it in the reverse order that's all.

We opened for the buyout today, and initially we were told there was no power for Joker's Jinx, but soon that got juice also (lucky me, I was working Krypton Comet all day right in front of it. "What's that you say?") The only thing that was out of the ordinary was that the Gotham City mens room was full of leaves.

I'm back after a 3 day delay without power. Took my 'puter offline Thursday to protect it against surges even tho we have a supressor.

There was major wind damage in my area (Brooklyn Park). A 75 foot tree missed my house by 2 feet as it fell.

This is the worst damage in the bay area I've ever seen, and I go back a long way...finally saw the aereals from Channel 13's copter Sunday night. Some people have lost everything.

Kinda puts our passion for roller coasters into perspective, doesn't it...

"How was your ride?"

I don't think that the rides will be hurt that bad. the steel rides I no that they wont be hurt becasue I used to live on the Island of Okinawa in Japan(My dad was in the military) we had many typhoons(another word for hurricane) each year. in 1999 we had a typhoon that was a cat. 5 it had winds up to 209 MPH. I know its hard to belive but its encredible what nature can do.Anyways we lived in concrete house's and the telephone poles were made out of steel and concrete and they lasted. so theres my point the steel ones shouldn't get hurt and the woodies i dont really know SORRY!:)
