Will SDC ever announce PowderKeg?

Just a question.... It seems it's taking them quite a while to make PowderKeg official.

The Ozark Wildcat, voted #26 wood coaster, the higest rated new wooden coaster since 2001.
ROYALS!!!

Well I've been wondering this myself. Although it is official in the park but only that it is a launched coaster and that it is named PowderKeg. I've been told by other employees that no other facts will be released until opening day. So who knows. But I am getting Impatient.

As Wildfire said, it is as official as it is going to get for now. They have released the name and type of ride in several of their packets for events next season, but things are getting real tight-lipped around the park for some odd reason. I tend to think it is because the name got out a lot sooner than they were wanting it to. Oops, my bad. ;)

Here is one of the mailings that has the PK art on it.

I bet you that it really gonna be a big annoucement later this month, I am sure SDC will want to get this information out before 2005 Season Pass sales begins in Nov. I also hope they are not playing a TTD trick and not annocing the name of the ride until a month or 2 before the park reopens for the 2005 season.

Q: Will SDC ever announce PowderKeg?
A: Why, doesn't everyone know about it already?

Kidding! But i thought I'd at least get that out of the way, LOL...:)

Seriously though, I think the fact that the HFEC parks run a long season has something to do with that late announcement. Well, that and the fact that SOME people are just bad with secrets....so the less said, the better...;)

Or, maybe they're waiting to see how Stan bends steel with his bare hands, THEN decide the actual layout and such...:)

Nope. They will never announce it. Just drop it on an unsuspecting populace. ;)
I actually think that would be really cool, Rob!

Maybe when I get rich and buy Camden I can do that a few times;).

After I buy and rebuild King Cobra, of course.

Oh, and fix their Arrow Looper.

Just build rides and never tell people about them. Its almost as good an idea as the "line" ride where people get in line for nothing more than a line!

Hey I can tell a jab at me when I see one. ;) Just because I found the name on the national trademark page after I got a tip off from someone at the park doesn't mean a thing. :)

Stats are leaking out slowly, you just have to know where to look for them. ;)

Bill, you're so mean to me. :)

I'm starting to wonder if the layout we all imagined for PK is wrong.... Because looking at the footers in all of MIG's pictures, it seems that it is a lot more complicated than that layout would perceive. Maybe it's just me though.

They will annouce very soon. I got a feeling that the layout isnt the same somewhat. I hope that they do put in an inversion or hill like on Hypersonic.

its in the woods.........
Cal - I think that the possibility of their being a loop is pretty high as some of the track that arrived (as seen in the last MiG update) looks like loop track.

Bill - Remember that the layout was from IAAPA and it is very possible that things have to change. The model they had of Oz Cat at IAAPA (GCII) ended up being different then what was built. Things change and that's ok. :)

I see it as like when The Boss was built, several layouts were changed due to it being so close to Allenton Road. If it is the Stan we know, then expect the unexpected.

Cal - The Boss had (still has) so many design difficulties, it was a nightmare for the park. Powder Keg will be a long way from that mess. The only way I think the design might have changed is if Stan had a brainstorm and something even cooler came about from it. Must be nice to make money from being deranged. :)
Hollon- Boss is actually going to be retracked completly this off season and rumor is that they will recieve either brand new trains from PTC or the new Gerstulauers. Of course there might be another surprise in store. Stan probably did have a greater idea in PK, I very much doubt that it will be as small as it was originally.

Hey Its SDC its going to be good we know that! And if its not as good as they want it to be then they will just tear it down and try again. . . ummm yeah like this time! ;) I'm getting more and more excited about this ride and I am honestly suprised by the rides color scheme! Was I the only one who thought the only color of track we would ever see at the park would be Brown, Black, & Rust! The White and Red has really put my head on spin! I guess its not that odd though I mean its not like its purple. I just can't wait to ride this thing! Should be getting season pass info soon so hopefully we will get more details then!

Honestly I thought the track would be brown as well. SDC doesn't usually want their rides to stick out so the whole RED support thing really blew me away. They are progressing on the ride a little faster now. Too bad I can't get away to get photos.
