Will everything be ready?

So, 4 coasters is a LOT of work. And there's other work being done, too. So, who wants to comment on if EVERYTHING will be ready for the May 5th opening?

I say I'd like it to, but I'll be REAL impressed if they pull it off.

Coaster count: a meager 33, but climbing this summer! *** This post was edited by GregLeg on 2/2/00. ***

It looks like Villain will be finished in plenty of time, and I would think that Batman would be a snap together. I'm not so sure about Superman. It's not a complex structure, but I've gotta wonder when it comes to LIM rides.

I think that they can pull it off. B&M's seem to go up quite fast as I know Medusa West has. I also would think Villian is far enough now that they can all finish. About Superman I think that it will be built by May 5, but testing might and getting out kinks might not be done. We never know though. I think it depends on the weather here in Ohio.

SFO opens may 5...may be a good place to go on my Birthday :)
The park opens may 5! I would't be surprised if SFO opens a week or two late like SFA did last year.
In a recent drive by, Superman Ultimate Escape has most of the support columns in place. There are only 4 pieces of red Intamin track in the parking lot currently. I can't see this taking too long to put up....... however with all of the LIM troubles that plagued Volcano at PKD and other LIM rides, I hope they try to get everything right before opening day.

Batman has started vertical construction, as the final brake run, part of the lift, and what appeared to be the mid-course brake are in place. The mid-course is located pretty high off the ground and is almost at the same level as Serial Thriller's rollover element.

Villain's lift appears to be at its highest point (which does not look like the "120 feet" Premier is claiming) and should come together nicely. Whether or not everything else (Shipwreck Falls, Boomtown, the new tube waterslide) is up is debatable.

As always- I have no pix....... so don't ask!

Thanks for the update! I haven't done a drive-by yet (I'm in Pittsburgh)

I can believe the Batman going in quick, and from everything I've heard the Villain is going up nicely. It's the LIM on Superman that has me wondering the most. Did Batman&Robin: The Chiller at Great Adventure open on time? (I LOVE the vertical climb and dive on the Batman (I think?) side :-) )

As an aside on the Villain -- does the lift at its "highest point" have TRACK on it yet? I haven't seen a wooden-track-on-steel-support ride up close (other than the Coney Island Cyclone), so I'm wondering how much extra height the wood adds...

Magnum is Red,
Millenium Force is Blue.
I love Wicked Twister
And Raptor too.

Why would you dig up this old thread? No really, I want to know, especially with an answer like that.

The ice age killed the dinosaurs, we killed ourselves.

Wow, that was really weird!

Just outof curiosity, CedarPointNut, why did you feel obliged to answer a two and a half year old question? I'm not saying you shouldn't, just wondering why.

Cleaning the cobwebs off of this topic just wasnt worth it.

Closing.
