Wilfire on The Travel Channel

Anyone seen the show about Branson, Mo on TVC?

They show some of SDC and Wildfire, where they interview an employee, who says Wildfire is one of the fastest coasters in America. Hmmm. Do you see it listed here? I don't.

Course I imagine some people will visit the park just because of that remark, and never know the difference.

nope i dont. but i really dont look at rcdb records chart because some things that have been listed are wrong. For example, superman ride of steel at SFA it says 73mph and it really is 75 and i think i rememberd seeing some more things i did not agree on.

Well, unless they said it was one of the 10 fastest coasters in America, what's your point?

Well, when he said it was one of the fastest, he meant by average coaster speeds.. which is around 55mph. And if you talley up the coasters that go over 65mph in america, there really arent that many. It may not be the taller, longer, or faster than some of the big boys, but it definitely ranks up there in being one of America's best!

I really don't think anyone will visit based on that remark....most folks will go 'casuse they want to. Of course, after looking at the list of the fastest, I can honestly say faster does not necessarily make for better....

Yeah, most people aren't going to go very far out of their way to ride a coaster just based on what the hear on a TV show.

Read again. I didn't say most. I said some.
And I wouldnt put it past some people who probably will.
I know I travelled a long way to CP because of it's "est" (superlative) coaster(s).

Also I think when most people hear "one of the", they think meaning in the top tier, not just above average.

Well, if I disagree with someone about something, I'm going to say so. This message board is here to express my opinions, and that's all I'm doing. Anything around 50-55 miles per hour is REALLY fast, IMHO, or at least feels that way;)......

Thought about watching the show, thinking it may have SDC on it, but forgot about it. I've got the need for a new coaster show badly since no rides yet this season.

I know now, RP that I'll see it next time.

I guess at 31, I've been in enough (hetero) personal relationships to where I try to just avoid arguments most of the time now.
