Wildwood Park

Running thread of progress on my second park. First up is the main plaza and the first ride that guests will be greeted with upon entering the park.

Up next I'll be creating the station and beginning to terraform around the ride.

Neat. How did you do the storage tracks?

You have to fake it, unfortunately. Those are just 2 separate wooden roller coasters. I'm going to use scenery to attach the transfer tracks to the main ride and add some rails for the brake run to "slide" on to make it more realistic.

I'm using this park as a challenge to dig into the scenery while building objects, and to think outside the box to create realistic pieces and sections of parks that are not available otherwise in the game.

Isn't that going to result in endless "roller coaster 3 has no entrance" messages?

Maybe if you leave them "closed", or permanently under construction that won't happen.

I have all notifications turned off when I'm in Sandbox Mode so I'm not sure if that's an issue or not :) . I would assume, however, that since both rides are under construction that there shouldn't be notifications anyways.

You would think, but when I've left incomplete rides, because I ran out of money or whatever, it nagged me constantly.

I really like the picnic area next to the pond with the tables and chairs, but is that accessible to the guests? Looks like there's a curb on the main path leading into it.

As of this moment, unfortunately no. To get those wide, short steps, I haven't been able to replicate something like that with the pathing tools yet. The area is added there just for aesthetic purposes at this point.

Yeah that's what figured. It's a shame because it really looks great.

What about the bridge? Is that all building pieces or is there some terraforming as well?

The bridge, however, will work! There's a queue path that runs through it and I used building pieces around it.

Here's a technique for creating short steps. Maybe you could give it a shot.

Great trick! I have used this technique elsewhere, but never considered it for that area. I will give it a shot for sure.

Made a little progress tonight that I thought I would share. The station is about 75% complete and I just got started on building scenery around the transfer tracks.

This is slowly morphing into a 1 roller coaster park due to how much of a time suck the station and storage tracks have become. I'm super happy with how everything is turning out, I've just invested way too much time into this small area.

Curious. How many hours of work is this?

It was probably 8 in-game years. I started over quite a few times, but still.

What's that in dog years?
