Wildfires near Disneyland.

I just heard a report on cnn, that wildfires are getting closer to Disneyland park and may close the park if it gets much closer.

Guests are repoting that they can smell smoke and see some ashes from inside the park.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Well, there goes the magic.

OK, seriously, hope nobody gets hurt and the park comes out OK.

The fire is no where near Disneyland and it would be impossible for the fire to reach the theme park. Just because they can smell the smoke and see the ash means nothing. The winds are blowing from the east towards the park and the ash will float up thousands of feet into the sky and easily be carried for a hundred miles.

Yea, but the smoke and ashes could close the park. Plus, I think they closed some roads around the park.

The park is surrounded by city for miles in every direction. Not only are you overreacting but your concern is misplaced...it should be with those who's homes are in danger.

My concern is with those with homes, but this is a coaster site and this is related to coasters.

The way they made it sound on the news, was that it was right by the park. They had people calling from the park saying things about the smoke and ash.

Thats the problem with everyne taking the news literally, They make you think their way.

Go ahead and keep hyping something that is nothing. Clearly you don't know what you're talking about. My house is between the fire and Disneyland and my home will not be in any danger. Disneyland is roughly 20 miles away. None of the roads around my home are closed and I'm about seven miles away.

That is also complete nonsense about them possibly closing the park. This is Southern California we have lots of brush fires. Businesses don't close because there is smoke in the air. The smell may not be roses, but we're all used to it. A fire burned in the same area around the 241 tollroad for nearly a week in 2005 and Disneyland continued to operate without interruption.

I am just relating what the news said, so don't pounce on me over what someone else said. If this information is false, than I suggest you call cnn and tell them that they are reporting bogus news.

Cnn reported that one of the express ways was shut down due to the fire, so yes, there are closed road(s).

So that's what that was. I was in Orange at a party last last night and when I walked out to my car the next morning, it was covered in ash. But the sky was clear so I was really weirded out.

Crazy Horse - the toll road that is closed [Hwy 241] isn't near Disneyland. The problem isn't with CNN...its with your knowledge of So Cal geography ;)

CNN always post bogus news. As a matter of fact all news channels stretch the truth to interest more people.

Edit was to take out a comment about CNN that may have started political arguments I did not want to be involved in. *** Edited 3/12/2007 3:39:27 PM UTC by TonyBlackjack***
