Wild One & Roar new chaser lights on lift!

I was riding Blizzard River last night and as it got dark I saw an amazing sight.

Both The Wild One, and Roar had chaser lights all the way up the lift hill on both sides of the track. I ran into the Park GM and told her how good they looked and she said "5 rides will be getting lighting" she didn't specify, and I didn't pry, but look for more night lighting at SFA!

I remember Wild One having chaser lights when I worked at the park (in the parking lot) in 1986. Funny, I haven't been to the park at night since 1986 intend on doing that this year (that's if ever stops raining for a few hours). But, wow! That would be great!

That's awesome. I sometimes reminisce about the old days of Kings Dominion when Rebel Yell's chaser lights (that ran the length of the entire coaster) could be seen from almost anywhere in the park, and were reflected in Lake Charles (which was about 3 times the size it is now). What a beautiful sight. I've always thought more coasters need these!

Have you ridden a Toboggan?

Wild one always had chaser lights on the lift so that's nothing new but Roar adding chasers sure is news to me.

If the GM said that more lights are coming I just hope they don't plan on adding any to S:ROS because that would totally kill the night time riding experience.

BTW how was PBR now that you've actually gotten a chance to ride it as opposed to just being a mere spectator back on saturday & can you shed any light on what might be happening in 04? I know it's a bit early to ask but it never hurts to try .

wild one had plain white lights the new ones flash red white and blue there are two rows of lights on each side of the lift hill. If I recall SROS is not permitted to have any decorative illumination except from the ground looking up. I don't think lights up the lift would do anything to the ride experience, other than add more light before the drop making the dark ride seem darker.. If they put lights on the drop itself that would suck...

Trivia

Q: Who put the lights on the lift hill in 1986?
A: Mike Boodley

Blizzard River is a riot, fast spinning a little wet not soaked after the ride, the mist under the bridge is gonna look nice on a non windy day.

Haven't heard a word about 04

Mike Boodley was one-half of Great Coasters, the designers of Roar!.

If you have a problem with clones, the solution is real simple—Stop traveling.
Red,white & blue chasres on Wild one,ohh man I can't wait to see that in june when I make my next visit to the park.

I assume Roar just has the standard color on it's chaser lights, but I'm sure it'll look just as good & as for S:ROS it already has lights on the lift which are used for safety purposes at night.
