Wild Adventures announces 2003 rides and improvements

Wild Adventures says they plan to add a small inverted coaster called "Swamp Thing" in addition to several new water areas.

While the coaster is kinda old news, I flat love the Idea of REPTAR over the water in the swamp :)

This park in 7 years has proved that a small park can expand on a regular basis and be profitable. One thing they have going for them is year round operation.

Chuck, who won't hesitate to stop in Valdosta on any southern trip. Wild Adventures is FUN.

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both!

What they didn't mention is something that's ALSO new this year is Power Surge, which from what I hear is an unbelievable flat ride. I'm looking forward to trying to out.

-----------------

Homey G., they have had Power Surge since at least Apr 02, when I first rode it there.

I hope they either get a nice adult coaster or a unique/thrilling flat ride soon! They have the family/kids thing down for now.

EDIT: Corrected the date

WAdv also got a Crazy bus, which is in front of Cheetah, and they have done some changes to the park. This park did a lot more than you think they would have done. Oh, they also had to do some retracking on Cheetah.

By the way, Runnin' Wild was awesome.

Thank you so much for that eloquent summary of Wild Adventure's first annual event, Scorcherboy! ROTFLMAO. PIMPL.

All apologies Legendary. I was wrong, I thought it was new. Hey, new to me!!

Running Wild summary:

Temperatures hovered near freezing Sunday night, but everything ran flat out. The Hangman crew gets no respect, but it was in excellent form for the evening ERT. Cheetah was wild considering the temperature - ending the night with upstop wheels spinning on the brake run. I'd love to see how this would run near midnight in the middle of Summer.

Next morning the park liberally greased up Cheetah, the temperatures quickly rose to the 60's and it was flying. It must have been running wild at the end of the day (Cheetah definitely gets the award for most improved during a day - slow in the AM, fast and wild in the PM).

48 folks enjoyed the park despite the cold temperatures at night, the awesome BBQ, and more. We got the first ACE ERT on a new for 2003 coaster with Fiesta Express. And Swamp Thing's construction started on Monday as well (located on the section of the preserve by "The Plunge"). Also, 4 of the original cars for Ant Farm Express are now on display in the new Safari Sam's gift shop.

Ah, the smell of track grease at 9 AM is a nice wake-up call.

Brian,

Don't worry about being wrong, it happens to the best of us...even me! ;) And LMAO about the bottle! Glad Brett cleared everything up with that, as I do NOT think you had three heads!

Robert,

Thanks for the summation of the event, it sounds like it went pretty smooth and everyone had a good time! I'm still surprised that many people showed up, hopefully next time I can be in attendance, too (weird how I bugged you so much to HAVE an event there then I don't even show! Stupid work and lack of funds). Less than two months until SFoG opens for the year, and already it seems as though we'll have quite a few out-of-towners there for opening weekend! Can you say shindig at the park? Thought you could. :)
