Wicked Twister ras running today.

The CP web cam showed the WT train running, but I could not tell if people were riding or if they were testing. Did anyone visit the park today who can give us a report?

Get to The Point.

It reopened high noon yesterday (6/13/02). It will have "techinal difficulties" again next week.

How do you know?
Just like how 1+1=2, I know.

I worried about tech. problems. The technology has to be similar to what is used on AC locomotives. I am an electrician for a major railroad and these locos are very unreliable. I hope they get the bugs worked out
Wicked Twister will have its fair share of problems like all other impulses, but it will not have week long closures again this year. The reason it was down so long is they were double checking everything to make sure downtime is kept to a minimum for the rest of the year. It's in good hands. -Allan

I hope it closes again. I really don't see why Cp got Wicked Twister. I know that they are limited on land and everything but why go there just to ride something that can basically be ridden at Sfwoa. I think that Cp just needs to learn that building record breaking rides doesn't necessarily mean that it's the best. I shouldn't be bashing Cp this much cause it's by far my favorite park but I think they could do a lot better with there experience They could have competition next year between Millennium Force and the hyper going in at Sfwoa, but that's pretty much only if the one at Sfwoa is an Intamin. The only thing that can beat an Intamin, is an Intamin (look at Sfne's Sros.) That would be a nice way for Sfwoa to strike back and show Cp that the biggest isn't always the best.

Hey AJ, have you taken a ride on Wicked Twister? From what I hear (I haven't been on it) the rear twist makes it a different experience than S:UE.

And before someone else says it... Cedar Point does not have a space problem (tm).

You hope it closes? What kind of enthusiast are you?

We've been over this before. Wicked Twister fills a need for Cedar Point (perhaps two, shuttle and launched ride). It's a more aggressive ride targeted to the thrill seekers, but a good ride for the collection.

Oh, and Cedar Point does not have a space problem(TM).

What kind of crap is that? What kind of coaster fan would want ANY coaster to close!?

Well, saying ANY coaster really broadens it... I could name a few... Either close the Whirlwind at Knoebel's or get it a new lift hill, it sounds like someone is dying!

-----------------
Planned parks: Astroland, Knoebel's, Hersheypark, SFNE, SFGadv,SFGam,CP,PKI,PKD,PCW,HW,Indiana Beach,SFWOA,SFKK,SFDL,SFSTL,Lakemont,DelGrosso's... Need I say more?

Well, no matter how much some of us may dislike a particular ride, there are plenty of folks out there who love it. As much as I dislike certain rides, I would never want them torn down.

Down for a week working the bugs out? lol...yeah...

If they do tear it down, I'll gladly take it in my backyard. ;) $.20 per ride!

May you always lay in piece(s) and let us remember all those who you gave Xtreme Adrenaline.

Oh my god, don't start this crap about them taring it down. Its a new ride and EVERY new ride has some problems no matter how small (Tomb Raiders downtime, Son of Beasts roughness, Flight of Fears LIMs not working properly) see what I am saying, its gunna take a couple more weeks to get it to work.

Can we change the name of Top Gun to your mom so no one wants to ride your mom?

And why aren't people saying this about X? Everyone likes OMG they're gonna close it and take it down! WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?

Chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllll.

Cedar Point is not running out of room. It even says it on their website under Tips and FAQ...

"Cedar Point is not running out of room for expansion. When we added the tallest roller coaster in the world for the 2000 season, we employed strategies that are allowing us to grow in spite of our limited land area. The Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad track was moved to accommodate Millennium Force, and the Giant Wheel was relocated to a vacant space along the beach. Such creative use and rearrangement of our current and future rides and attractions will allow us to keep growing in the future."

all 3 of those rides were prototypes, WT is a 3rd generation impulse using 5 year old technology.

Also if CP did not have a space problem why was the elevator lift used on MF to save space? Don't say it was used because intamin didn't know how to get a chain long enough to work, it was possible. Another thing why was dodgems I removed, not because there is another dodgems, it's because they do not have enough room for a record breaking continuous circuit coaster. Stop denying it, the only way a big ride will go in is if a few are removed.

Since Jeff made Track Record a "perk" for CB members i'll just post my count here: Coasters:99 Parks:14

a chain going up a 300ft incline wouldnt work. SD2K has to use 2 chains to get around this problem.
