Hopefully, this hasn't been brought up yet. I used the search and didn't find anything so here goes :)
I was at CP yesterday and noticed that the first shot going backwards wasnt nearly as quick as it was my previous few trips this year.
That being said, the second jolt going forward has quite a bit of punch to it which makes it even more tantalizing to ride the front vs. the back :)
I was wondering if this is in fact something they have changed, or if myself and my mind are going crazy :)

If only I could legally drive from Mich to CP at MF's top speed. I could shave 42 minutes off my drive time.
Yes, they have toned it down (and yes, it has been brought up before ;)). Apparently there's some concern about the support-track joints at the tops of the support towers, where the track is twisting at its connection.
I don't really know anything more than that, but apparently the "drum" that sits in the track truss is causing some kind of problem in the way that it is attached to the truss. Several cross-members in the track have been removed and replaced around that area.
