why isn't there a rocket coaster with a loop?

Well I was looking at all these rocket coasters and seeing how many problems they have. So now I have two questions.

1)Why isn't there an air launch rocket coaster?(or if there is someone tell me)

2)Why don't they put vertical loops on rocket coasters?

1. Because by nature a 'rocket coaster' wouldn't be air launched - they're hydraulically launched. (I think that's correct...maybe?) Hypersonic XL at PKD is an air-launched coaster.

2. They have built rockets with inversions, just none with a vertical loop, per se. It's entirely possible, it's just that no one has requested one yet.

D'oh!

Bad enthusiast! Bad!

They aren't really referred to as "air launch rocket coasters", but Hypersonic at PKD is an air launched coaster. Dodonpa in Japan and Powder Keg at Silver Dollar City also have compressed air launches. Rocket coasters like TTD, KK, Xcelerator and Storm Runner are HYDRAULICALLY launched. Storm Runner is the only one with inversions. None of these is a simple vertical loop, but they are still inversions.

I stand corrected. I forgot about that new rocket coaster. I must say that is one SMALL rocket coaster !!!! *** Edited 9/8/2005 4:30:02 AM UTC by Kris Wempa***

You mean vertical loop correct? As Storm Runner has several inversions.
And Kanonen has a Vertical Loop Correct ;).
Yes that's correct - I was just clarifying that he meant a vertical loop as some people call ANY inversion a "loop".

^ Those people should be visiting some OTHER site... :)

To me, a launch is a launch...I mean, I understand that there are hydraulc launches, air launches, and LIM launches, but really, what difference does it make in terms of what elements are used, etc...the word "rocket" could specify Intamin-hydraulic, but to what end?
