Why is there a TOS?

Now that i think about it, who is there a TOS? What would really happen if people could post whatever they wanted as long as it was appropriate for kids? I mean, come on, I don't see why we can't have vs. threads. I would like a logical explination to why there are like ten rules in the TOS?

Short answer: It's Jeff's site. He does what he wants. Take it or leave it.

Long answer: If you want vs. threads and other garbage, there are plenty of other places you can go. If you want to have intelligent, informative discussion, it's a hell of lot easier without wading through topics that everyone's heard and no one cares about.
