I remember that from the L.A. Coaster Con during our special "screening" of the film. ;-)
I may have seen a few movies with Sensurround as a kid.....Jaws maybe?

Wasn't that right around the time of Amityville 3D? Because I saw that one just as many times.
Helen Hunt. Yum.
Kirsten Dunst. Eh.
As far as the Rollercoaster movie, I haven't seen it in years. I'll stop and watch it if it's on TV and I flip by it. I don't think it's any worse than the other disaster movies of the time (as others mentioned).
"Heavily medicated for your safety!"
I also saw Jaws 3-D many times back in the day, we well as Amityville 3-D and a whole slew of other 3-D movies during the early 80's 3-D craze.
It's weird that 3-D movies are mentioned as I just recently purchased DVDs for Comnin' At Ya', Spacehunter, Metalstorm, Friday The 13th Part 3, House Of Wax, Treasure of the Four Crowns, and Jaws 3, all in field sequential 3-D. I just got Jaws in the mail yesterday and haven't been able to view it. If the quality is anything like the other DVDs, I am going to be happy.

I still love 3D, I guess that's why I still cherish my old Viewmaster. ;-)

What makes me like to watch it?? I simply love the classic shots of the amusement parks. I like to see Kings Dominion back before I was born, and I like to take a ride on Revolution before Six Flags neutered it. We get to see the Rocket and Ocean View Park, things from the past that we won't ever see again. Rollercoaster was responsible for the birth of ACE, and still is a cinema classic, at least in the coaster fan's mind....much like a Star Trek movie is for Trekkies. It's a guilty pleasure, and no matter how bad it is, I still have a copy and am not afraid to admit that I watch it.
Have I mentioned I haven't ridden a single coaster yet this year, and it's almost half over...
If I remember correctly, only a small portion of Freddy was in 3-D, and that was using the anaglyph method, which doesn't do 3-D justice in the theaters IMO. However, the new Spy Kids 3-D DVD looks incredible on my TV and it is shown in the anaglyph method. It's the first red/blue 3-D I have seen on TV that actually works well.
Robocoaster,
I haven't seen that one yet but thought about purchasing it. It is out there.
Getting back onto the topic of roller coasters, in 1995, Chris Trotter and I rode a 3-D simulator in Las Vegas that showed full 3-D POV of Steel Phantom and Thunderbolt. If that wasn't enough, Gary freakin' Coleman ended up sitting next to Chris before the show started and even commented to Chris and I that he bet the real rides were much more thrilling than the simulator. Pretty strange huh?
A couple years later, I purchased a 3-D kit for my camcorder that let me record in field sequential 3-D. I took it to SFOT and shot 3-D POV of Texas Giant. It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped but it did work. I need to dig that kit out again and start taping in 3-D again. Then again, showing Buzzers in 3-D might not be a good thing. =:^)

Ok, I'm intrigued. Can you still get something like this?
Sounds more than a little gimmicky, but it sounds like a lot of fun too (getting ideas hardly appropriate for CB, but I'm sure you sickos are with me)
I could see it amusing me for quite some time :)
