Why is Riddlers Revenge so popular?

When I go to Six Flags on non crowded days like Tuesdays (take today 6/26) I notice lines are like 10 minutes if the most (even Goliath), but why does Riddlers always have like a 45 minute wait. I mean they have 8 rows and 4 to a row, so that means 8x4 is 32 per train times another 2 since they ran both trains which is 64 people every three minutes. Goliath only ran 2 trains, and the line for that wasn't even down those stairs, but Riddlers in the middle of the day was at the entrance. May I add we went down to Riddlers at the middle of the day, but when we went back (the line was to long for Riddlers)we went on Goliath, and there was like a 3 minute wait. Why is Riddlers so popular, and its not even that good of a ride. Man I wouldn't wait more than 10 minutes to ride The Riddlers Revenge. No ofense Riddler Lovers.

Maybe because it is the best stand-up coaster on Earth?

Umm...perhaps the GP is still leery of goliath after that...incident, despite Cal-OSHA's clearance. Plus RR is a standup, and loading takes alot longer.

I agree 100% with SFMMFREAK85 The Riddler is the all time best ride of all the coasters. It has great hangtime on the loops and is ultra smooth. The reason why there is such a long line is because so many people love it more than Goliath. So stay out of the way of the GREEN GIANT.

I have to disagree with this. There may be a few people scared off, but not enough to make the line shrink appreciably. I think the fact that you can see almost all of the layout of RRv from the entrance helps entice people, whereas most of Goliath's course is hidden from view (with the exception of the drop).

Seriously, though. I've ridden both, and they couldn't be more different. It's just apples and oranges. Some people prefer the one, some people prefer the other. Why does personal preference often mean something is "better"? Riddler is a great coaster, but you must understand that many, many people don't think that Riddler is the "best coaster out there". Probably much, MUCH more than not. Does that mean it's not a good coaster? Of course not.

Riddler's Revenge is a great ride. Most of the general public has the mentality that the more loops the ride has, the better the ride. Anyways, the main reason the ride is "so popular" is since the ride has an incredibly slow boarding process.

RR is popular because it is the only large, yet smooth, looper at SFMM. It also happens to be a stand-up, which causes the less than stellar dispatch intervals.

Revolution: Only 1 loop, a bit outdated.
Batman: Not really big, 80' drop?
Viper: A bit rough for some tastes.
I am not saying these are bad, but Riddler may appeal to more riders.

Because the floor-less coaster was introduced. It's all about novelty. New types of coasters are being introduced and that's what parks want, unique never before seen novelties. The Riddler's Revenge will probably remain the largest stand-up for quite awhile...And it's safe to say it is aging quite well. It has not gotten rough at all. Still the smooth joy it has always been. Even the ride's 3 year old paint job is still intact (No they haven't repainted since it opened in April 1998). And talk about B&M paint jobs...:Nitro:...

Maybe because of it's colors and that it is a stand-up coaster. It's the biggest, tallest, and fastest stand-up in the world. I would rather ride Goliath then Ridder. No "a-fence" to y'all Ridder lovers.

It's just a great ride! 4,000 plus ft of coaster heaven. And the only stand up that doesn't hurt my legs like hell. The layout is my favorite of any coaster at SFMM, and the inversions are HUGE. If this coaster were at Cedar Point, it would be a top 5 ride for sure.

RR is an outstanding ride! I had tears streaking back from my eyes when I rode in the first row. Me knees were shaking and I had to do a couple laps on the monorail afterward. What a wonderful ride!

Riddler's is the best Stand-Up coaster IMO. As far as it always having a long line. It takes a while to load plus it is the best looping coaster at the park. Stand-Ups are a different breed of coaster. The reason we don't see that many is the intensity of the ride. I would rank Riddler's in my top 5 steel coasters. I think this is the best coaster SFMM has to offer.
