Why do we ride?

I love coasters because they are one of the few times in life that it is fun and somewhat safe to not have any control. Once the trains starts up the lift hill it is in control and we are just along for the ride. This is a great escape from the normal everyday grind of work or family life where we try to control as many of the variables in life as possible. I also guarantee that if you on the way down a 200+ ft. drop or going through an inversion, the last thing on your mind is whether all your files at work are up to date or whether everything that needs to be done is done. All I think about is that I am not in control and it feels great.
I know that I ride them because for 2 seemingly endless minutes I can forget every problem or stress that I have in my life and just have fun. I think they should replace Prozac with roller coasters. ;)

I'd walk through hell in a gasoline suit to keep riding roller coasters
I think we all ride them for two of three reasons, or all of them:
1. They are fun.
2. We are scared of heights.
3. A personal reason nobody but them understands.
