I'm just wondering why people still think that CP is the best, because seriously, think about it. SFMM has more coasters, and better coasters (from what I understand).
They match every coaster by CP by a mile (with exeption to MF and Mantis maybe). I'll go over the figures if you want me to later.

What is life without SFA?
OK, here is the reason, and you would know if you had been to both parks:
SFMM is a huge corporate span of asphalt.
CP is on a beautiful peninnsula.
SFMM is the result of a corporate takeover.
CP is 130-odd years old, owned now by a much smaller group.
SFMM cares about profits more than what people want (witness...cloned ride, desperately seeking coaster number records)
CP cares about its customers (witness...Coastermania, the cancer patient flyover)
SFMM has good rides (RR, BTR, STE, Goliath) and horrible rides (Psyclone, Colossus, Flashback).
CP has good rides (MF, Magnum, Mantis, Raptor), but none that kill you, are overly rough, show signs of disrepair, etc. Even the "bad" rides (Corkscrew, Iron Dragon) are inoffensive.
And there are 100 more reasons. Just go to CP, you'll know you're in a world-class park. (Just for credibility...I have been to both parks)

Because I worked there. Actually, I started career there. I still have friends from 12 years ago, who I talk to. It is a great vacation spot. People go to Southern California 'visit' Magic Mountain for the day. That is all it will be.
Families take a mini vacation at Cedar Point. You have the marina, camping, great resturants, hotels, a beach, a boardwalk, your grandparents can go, or for that matter, any non rider can have a great day. The list is endless. It is a resort, coasters are there, but it would survive, and has since like 1870-? without world records.
SFMM matches every coaster at CP? Well you might wanna go there this summer and then judge it yourself. Personally, I think people will always stand up for CP because its a great park. MOST people have not been to both.
I like that CP makes original coaster and not clones like B:TR and that new invertigo they are getting. I wish people would stop comparring parks.

CP does have very good rides and is beautiful. This park is a very nice sight seeing park too. If you know someone who doesn't like to ride and just want to go to see CP. They will enjoy it. I've never been to SFMM, but I did watch the Discovery Channel show Scream Parks and it had SFMM on it. I thouht it was pretty nice. Please don't start an argument over this comment.
cedar point is a way better park. There's too many reasons to list!

Keep the coasters comin'!
Personally SFGAm is the best. People are always going to stick up for the park they call their homepark. Since this site basically was started from an addition of
www.guidetothepoint.com you will find a lot of people that favor CP on this site.

The Raging Bull #1!!
yeah well while some people may argue that magic mountain has better coasters and which it may very well have. Coasters are only part of Cedar Point's vast charm. they have better restaurants, shows, entertainment, flat rides, and basically everything else than Magic Mountain. It's just a place where you have a lot of fun and is very scenic.
UGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH! I'm so sick of hearing, "Six Flags Magic Mountain has more coasters, therefore they are the best."
I don't care if one park has more coasters than another...I would rather go to Cedar Point and enjoy my way around the park in it's nice atmosphere and ride their awesome coasters (which were a majority of them were record breakers when they opened). From what I hear, Six Flags Magic Mountain doesn't have the best atmospheere (which means everything to me). Also, the two parks are so far away from each other there is absolutly no competition.

Well, I for one would HATE Cedar Point if I wasn't a roller coaster nut. Coming from Chicago, aside from the rides, there is nothing at CP that is special, as far as beachfront vacation spots go, Hilton Head SC, and VA Beach would get the nod WAY before Sandusky.
As for sticking up for CP, whether you like it or not, it is a fantastic park, especially for coaster freaks. Gemini, MF, Magnum, Raptor and Blue Streak by themselves make for a very enjoyable day. And while they do have at least three *yawners* (ID, MS, CS), the other coasters more than make up for it.
Anyone who has read posts from me, knows that I am NOT a CP diehard (Chitown remember the WoC days) but I do really like the park. Regarding SFMM, yes they will have more coasters, but not necesarily that much better. I've done the coaster breakdowns before and honestly, the parks are just about even. I mean, both parks lack really good wood, CP's sitdown looper is a joke compared with today's standards, and SFMM has apparently ruined a classic (Revolution).
In conclusion, both parks have a great selection of coasters to choose from, the quality of which is quite comparable. So if people want to defend CP let them.

CP has my heart and soul.
Personally, while i have not been to Magi Mountain, I'd say it is the better park. CP absolutely disgusted me... Anyways, the only real reason I can see behind the mndless backing of CP would be complete and utter idiocy brought about mainly by the roller coaster count and size records.
Den, does the zie of the owner actually matter? No... Also, you quite obviously have never heard f thatcoaster named "Meanstreak," as it is definitely overly rough. Plus, CP is the park striving for records. THey ***** and moan every time a record is challenged. SFMM is just getting what it deserves, as it is very proffitable and has a lot of stiff competition. Please, don't use overly biased opinions for factual arguments...
SF has so many more parks. Don't you think they deserve attention for that? If it wasn't for SF, I wouldnt be an enthusiast. I thank SF every day that they expanded into Riverside. CF would never expand to new england. That's the main reason I like SF better. They started my coaster career. I'm sure others can agree.
This one is going to turn into another 'my park is better than yours' thread so I'm going to stop it now.
