Why Do People Rave Over CCI?

I have rode Villian and Great White and they were both very rough and not very enjoyable. Villians drop was great but the rest was horrible so why do people love them?
You need to ride Raven and Shivering Timbers (seat 1-2). Your question will then be answered by the angels of airtime.

Go to IB and ride Cornball Express and Locosumo and you'll see what we're talking about!

First off, all coaster riding is subjective as it is. I love woodies over steel, but I prefer Raptor over SOB. To each his own...

If those are the only 2 CCIs you have ridden, then you need another dose, my friend. Hit up Raven, Ghostrider, Shivering Timbers.... You will be enlightened...:)

Tremors, Timber Terror, Ghostrider, The Legend and those mentioned in previous posts may help you understand. Villain needs TLC and maybe PTCs. I've not ridden Great White.

There is already a thread entitled The CCI Love Thread taking place and basically you're asking why do people love CCI. Couldn't you just read that thread and find out?

Contrary to what some think, not every CCI is perfect. ie Twisted Sisters and Hoosier Hurricane are OK, but not great. But enough of CCI's coasters are superb that CCI deserves its status as the premier builder of wooden coasters.

Perhaps, this will give GCI a chance to emerge. I feel that Lightning Racers is one of the best woodies around. Given a chance to build more coasters, I think that GCI's reputation will grow.

Well IYO, CCI may not be anything special, but that is all a matter of opinion. Some people tend to worship certain coaster companies like they were gods. IMO, CCI was a great coaster company...I have only ridden Villain and Boulder Dash (my fave woodie) and I think the reputation they have gotten is well deserved. But there are other coaster companies out there making great wooden coasters, such as GCI. This will not only give them more of a market (which I think they truly deserve) to showcase their talents, but it will enable them (and other coaster companies) to bring in the CCI talent to help them out.

Another positive that could come out of this that I haven't heard mentioned yet is REVIVAL!!! That's right...before CCI started making great cheap wood coasters for companies, how did smaller parks get there coasters?!?! Many of them bought old, SBNO wood coasters and brought them into their park. I think we may see some more of that going on now that CCI has closed doors...I hope so anyway.

Happy Coastering!

Sean

Wood coasters are suppose to be rough. Compared to many wood casters, Villian is not at all that rough.

If you ride a rough CCI, you can't blame the company for that. You can however blame the park that is (not) maintaining it.

Legend, Raven, Shivering Timbers, and even Villain in its opening year... those will make anyone a believer.

Jim, had I not sampled Ghostrider or Cornball first, I would have thought the Hoosier Hurricane one of the best I'd been on. Heck, at night, with the air, night breeze, and turn past the giant colorful ferris wheel, it's one of the best.

janfrederick - Yep. That turn on HH at night is one of my favorite moments in all of "coasterdom." It really is beautiful.

Great White is the smoothest woodie I have ever been on. I also love Villain.

Villain is my #1 woodie. It was smooth back in 2001.

-----------------
Steel: 1)MF, 2)Goliath, 3)Magnum
Wood: 1)Villain, 2)Beast, 3)Roar(SFMW)

The Villain, Shivering Timbers, Legend & Raven, Corball Express & Hoosier Hurricane. Experince those and see why people like CCI so much ;). I will truly miss CCI.

Villian is nothing but drops. We enjoyed it. Those drops are intense.

Why do people Rave Over B and M?

I have rode a lot of them and I find them all forceless and unimaginative besides Raptor and BKF.

-Brent who doesn't actually belive what he just said but is trying to make a point.

I agree B&M are forceless but they are fun. CCI are fun also but they make my chest sore from all the shaking. Villian does have EXCELLENT!!!!!!! drops but its just a little rough in my opinion. I love GCI and I hope we see more of them around. You can't beat Lightning Racer.
Agree with what? Do you not read? I said I didn't even belive it, I was pointing out how stupid your post is.
