Why did SCBB get rid of Chaos?

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk got rid of their Chaos and is building another ride in place of it. Is the reason they got rid of it because someone died on another Chaos or something?
Probably because it wasn't a popular ride or it was a maintainence nightmare, that's like asking why Cedar Point is building TTD.

It was popular, it is one of the only thrill rides there.
When it was open, it did have some popularity, but you have to stres when it was open. Besides the KMG Afterburner will be 5 times better!!!

Every time I've gone to SCBB (which is so many I've lost count! ;)) the Chaos has had no line whatsoever. At most, I've seen maybe 5 people ahead of me or in back of me in line. It wasn't all that popular. It was probably also a maintenance hassle, I'm sure. Perhaps it cost too much to keep it running, and they opted to put in a new ride instead.

Besides, having the Afterburner, as Vertigo stated, will be A LOT better than the Chaos. Personally, I hated that ride. Way too cramped for a tall guy like myself... :)

Besides, Chaos' suX0r, and Afterburner's r0X0r! Good move for the Boardwalk, IMO.

Intamin Fan says we have to behave. Let's bring this discussion back to coasters. Do you people think I have all day to dick around?

Possibly they felt uncomfortable with it after the Chaos accident at Michigan's Adventure.

Please visit the small parks. We don't know what's happening behind the scenes
