Why are they tearing down dragon fire at busch gar

Dragon Fire is my favorite rollercoaster and after I realized they were tearin it down this year i got very upset. Its made by the Tume(Ron Tumer). Its a great coaster made by the tume and should not be taken down.

as my girlfriend says "there is nothing like a great big woodie to take you for a ride!"
You mean Drachen Fire. I didn't know they were tearing it down. Or are you thinking of the Steel Phantom at Kennywood? I know Drachen Fire was sitting dormant for a year and a half or so now. Could another park have bought it? And are making room for another coaster?
Did you actually see the ride being disassembled?

No but the park management said they were going to tear it down this year and were also thinking about tearing down nessy. Now as nessy being the first coaster I road conzuering my fear of them this gets me mad. And they are going to possibly put up an Oblivion-G5 in Drachen Fires place.

Drachen Fire's fate is still uncertin for many reasons. The main one being that the ride was very rough and many patrons complained. In fact after a lawsuit about the rides rougness one of the corkscrews was removed. Also, the ride is situated towards the back of the park in a very remote corner where it is hard to get to and this made ridership very low. So if you add rougness, lawsuits and bad location you get yourself a SBNO coaster.
Well I like roughness and your right this is by far the roughest coaster.thats what makes it my fav.

When you have to remove an inversion, I think it's safe to say that the ride is seriously flawed. I've seen the POV of the ride, and was stunned by the number of trims all over the ride.

Word on the street is that it can be yours for $5 million.

Ill take it
I don't think Nessy is ever gonna leave Busch Willaimsburg. It is such a great coaster and it is one of those thinngs that makes Busch Williamsburg stand out. Besides it is the first to have interlocking loops, and BGW has a TON of space to add coasters.
I thought BGW was keeping Drachen Fire, and probably going to re-open it next season. Haven't they been testing it?

No one knows, no one will till the official announcement is made. Come on people, this is really old, and non changing news.

I don't make fun of people, I have fun with people!
Nessy will never be leaving, it is to much of a signature atraction. Who has not gone to BGW and not seen and remembered seeing the interlocking loops? As for Drachen Fire, the testing was for some potential buyers, and the ride really is not that rough. The GP is spoiled by the B&M's in the park. Hopefully the park will redo the ride's entrance so it can be seen, that would solve alot of the low ridership problems.

I dont have a problem with the low ridership, everytime ive been there I walked righrt on it. Sounds to me like they should keep the entrence the way it is.and it was in the front seet to. cant get much sweeter than that
Actually, it's going for $6.5 million. Just thought you should know. :-)
