Who's been to Indiana Beach?

Just curious...who here at Coasterbuzz has ventured to Indiana Beach in the last couple of years? I would like to see your thoughts about the park and what you thought of Hoosier Hurricane and their two twisting mini-steel coasters.

If you haven't noticed, this is my home park and I love it to death. I've been there 10 years in a row for the last ten years. I'm really siked about CornBall Express - it may not have the best stats, but when it's finished, it will be awesome!

So, who has been there and what do you think about it?

Indiana Beach is a neat park, especially if you like reading little black and white signs. It's an amazing sight just to see how they packed it all into that space, and they've given me a few neat ideas. I suggest that while the Hoosier Hurricane is a good coaster, it is probably not a good idea to ride it immediately following Stark Raven Mad because it is not at all either the Raven or the Legend, and if you compare it to those two, you'll be disappointed.
Compare it to CP's Blue Streak, though, for instance, and you can tell it's a good solid performer.

Talking about jam-packing rides into a park, look at Morey's Piers!
Haven't visited it yet, but its on my list for parks to visit in 2001.

Its on my list to for 2001 parks. I live in the Chicago suburbs so this park is a definite. 2 more CCI coasters just makes me drool.

Hoosier Hurricane is amazing and I'm sure CornBall Express will give just a good effect with it's twisty little structure flying around and over buildings.

Back to Hoosier Hurricane - I believe this is my only out and back (other than Blue Streak at Cedar Point). Now, since it's off-season, I can't say it has a lot of air time, because I don't remember. But a lot of people say it does not...even if it didn't, it makes up for it with it's lengthy ride down the whole length of the park. I can keep saying how good it is, but you have to ride it to see what it's all about.

I wish people wouldn't underestimate this park, because it has a lot to offer. It's no Cedar Point, but it's definatelly cool!

I bet it is really great at night, too bad I couldn't stay too long. The park has a fantasic line-up of attractions, it sort of reminded me of a cross between Santa Cruz and a little Cedar Point, by being on a peninsula and all.

I like the Yo Yo!

It is a great not-so-little park. Make sure to try the Double Shot and both of the Shwartzkoph's.

Peace, Love, and Rollercoasters.........we need more of all three.
I really enjoyed myself at IB last year. There is a lot to do and the food is excellent. I only rode HH once and thought it was neat. There isn't a lot of airtime but it's a fun ride nonetheless. Tigr'r was REALLY neat! It just zips around the course. The double shot is unreal how it just BRUISES your shoulders. The yo-yo was the scariest ride at the park! It goes completely over the water and creates a very unnerving effect. The Sally dark ride is a hoot, as is the other dark ride (Goldrush?). I am most certainly going back this year, maybe even a couple of times. There really is more than corn in Indiana! There are some cool CCI's! :)

A nit-picky correction: Indiana Beach has only one Schwarzkopf coaster, the Tig'rrr. The Galaxie is an SDC coaster, not a Schwarzkopf.

You know what's really kewl at night? Take a ride on Hoosier Hurricane. The turnaround wraps around and then heads *straight for* the center of the Chance wheel. Fantastic effect!

Hey Chitown, I live in the Chicago suberbs also. Maybe we have seen each other...;)

Anyways, I have been to Indiana beach once a very while ago. I have wanted to go ever since, but I guess I just haven't got a chance. With Cornball Express, I must visit this park this season. It looks like a great park.

I can say, for being there 10 years in a row for the past 10 years, I have never ridden the Yo Yo (Water Swing). Just looking at it scares me! I has to be a very scary experience, because it is off the main walk way and over the water like 30-40 ft (from the midway). Maybe this summer, I don't know ;).

You're right about Double Shot too! The jerkiest S&S, but it is awesome! I love it :)

Also, the Mine Dark Ride is called Superstition Mountain (which I think needs to be rennovated. It hasn't changed in FOREVER! lol)
