Who rides the kiddie coasters?

When we went to PKI, I took a ride on Runaway Reptar with my daughter...although the ride is SHORT beyond belief, it was fun and cute for a kiddie inverted.

I had a bad headache so I passed going on Beastie, but my hubby took my 2 year old on his first coaster- Taxi Jam...and he hated it!

Anyone else take kiddie coaster rides with or without kids in your party? Do you have a favorite kiddie coaster?

I make a distinction between kiddie coasters and "family" coasters. I put Reptar and Beastie in the family category. But rides like Taxi Jam is a kiddie coaster. I don't ride those. For one, I'm 6', 260 lbs and I think I'd crush the darn thing. :) Plus I'm 47 years old and feel silly sitting with 3 and 4 year olds.

I go on every kiddine coaster they'll let me on atleast once. I'm about 6'2". Beastie is tops. I would love to have a clone of that in my back yard someday. Zach's Zoomer is another goodie.

I rode Reptar at the media day, when there were very few kids there. But I won't ride them usually; it's too embarrassing, and (I've said this before) when you're standing in line for a kiddie ride with no kids, parents look at you like you're a sexual predator.

Right on! I mean if you're worried what a group of strangers is going to think about you riding a kiddie coaster IMHO you got problems. You're never going to see them again, why care what they think?

Absolutley. I won't hunt a kid to get me on the ride, but if they'll let me, I'm there.

Well - on top of that, I'd rather reride a favorite than ride a kiddie coaster just to add to my track record.

Same here -- if they'll let me on I will. It kinda started with Woodstock Express as a joke , and since then I've made it a point to ride whatever kiddie coaster I pass by. Sometimes I feel kinda stupid, especially if there's little or no parents on board, but I ride them anyway. BTW, that Woodstock Express impressed me for a kiddie ride; it beats all but one mine train (ThuNderaTion) I've ridden. I'd have been scared beyond words if I rode as a little kid...

I ride every darn one that the parks or the fairs will allow me to. That includes all travelling carnivals.:) I don't care if I am alone. I love 'em. In fact, I actually find that some of the kiddie coasters, due to their size, are more intense than their adult counterparts. It is rare, but it happens.

nasai - totally agree. SFMM's Canyon Blaster has some of the most intense laterals and air in the park! And anyone who has ridden High Speed Thrill Coaster knows it ain't no kiddie ride!

Jaguar at KBF is considered a family coaster (a notch above kiddie coasters) and that's one of my favorite coasters for some reason, it's just really fun. Canyon Blaster @ SFMM is also really cool since you can get a bit of airtime on it. Too bad they have a heigh restriction on it of I think 32 inches?

Beastie is a Jr Woodie, like Waldameer's Comet and Wyndott's Sea Serpent.
