Who has purchased CP 03 SP?

Hehe......Wildfire kicks @$$! Although that is kind of pointless to travel all that distance just to save 20$. You waste the 20$ on gas! hehe. Plus who cares about if it's more? You're supporting your home park.

I paid only $38 last year for my pass during pre-sales. I'm sure that was a little more than the $20 savings that has been quoted in this thread *cough* Putz *cough* Yes you may have to pay to get here, but at least you would be saving money and you could go to our park a lot earlier than you could go to CP to get it processed."

Let's see. I takes me a tank of gas to drive from Metro Detroit to Cedar Point and back. It also takes 4 hours of my time. A tank of gas costs me $25, and taking a morning off work costs me about $200 if I'm working fulltime.

Now for driving to WOF -- it's about 13 hours, each way, which is 26 hours round trip. With the kind of milage my car gets, we're looking at AT LEAST $200 in gas, plus the wear & tear on the car ($0.30/mi * 1200 miles round trip = $360), plus an overnight motel stay (~$60), and two full days off work, which would be $800 lost.

Trip to CP total: ~$300 not including cost of SP
Trip to WF total: ~$1420 plus cost of SP

Add it all up, and I'd say driving to CP any buying my SP there is still a lot cheaper, plus all the additional convenience already mentioned (Joe Cool, etc)...

--Ken (who has WAY too much free time this weekend! :))

I will hopefully be getting a SP before 11/15 so I can have Joe Cool too.

Call me Peter Soint.

I have the full setup [SP, PP and Joe cool] for 2003 already. It was $134.17 with shipping.

I find that setup very useful, I got it for the 2002 season, got in before everyone but employees durning most the season, used it 9 times for CP so far. It's going pretty well.

*rolling his eyes* Some people have way too much free time to figure up all the figures (especially Ken). I'm just thinking how absurb it is for there to be that much of a price flux. How much are MIA passes? That would be a lot closer to drive to.

MiA passes are $85 as well. And swoosh, people are just trying to show you how ridiculous it would be for any of us who live close to CP to drive to WOF to try to save money. If you take into consideration the cost of gas, and the time involved, it actually costs more. Not to mention the loss of benefits (like parking and Joe Cool).

And, because I've already had a CP pass, I don't have to make the drive to CP for next years pass. They will use my current picture and mail it to me before opening day.

I used my CP pass at CP 5 times so far with at least 2 more trips planned. I also used it at MiA twice. MiA makes you go to guest relations, but yesterday, I got my ticket at guest relations before my co-worker and his wife got their tickets at the ticket booths.

Not really. They price the pass according to how much entertainment they have, and what their particular market will bear. In this case, CP has a *substantial* amount more entertainment than the much smaller Worlds Of Fun. That is a large reason why the pass is around $30 more.

Joe, waiting for WOF to build something really cool before deciding to go back

I have a question that "sorta" goes along with this topic so I'll ask it here as opposed to starting a new thread about it. Does CP actually process your '03 season pass if you buy it now? and if not then why? I don't know how many people buy their season passes before the end of the season, but wouldn't it be a good idea to go ahead and process those that are sold before the major influx on opening day? Just a thought...

No, Joe, they don't. You get "certificates" that are then used to get your photo ID. I would assume they don't do the passes for the next season because your current pass is good until April 30. At least the CP passes. It might be different for Knotts which is open all year
