Who do you think will put on a good show at IAAPA?

I'm wonering what kind of technology will come out at the IAAPA show and who will be the big winners and losers?

I can't wait to check out Arrow's display.

#1) Chance-Morgan Manufacturing. The inevitable cross of Flat Rides and Rollercoasters...heh heh heh.

#2) B&M. What more do I say?

#3) Intamin. They look like they're hiding something.

Usually all flat ride companies will have an elaborate setup. Huss will of course be marketing their Giant Rides. I wonder what Zamperla has in store?

Does anyone think that any vendors will pull out, due to the concerns in the US right now. I know Atlanta will be losing about $9 billion this year with conventions being held in the World Congress Center right now, and attendance is way down and some delegates, booths, etc are down.

I just got a press release from IAAPA indicating everything was a go and should be relatively normal. Remember that if things do get tough for the industry (and I'm guessing regional parks will continue to do well, if SFWoA last weekend is any indication), it's that more important to market yourself and your product against your competition's.

Intamin didn't have anything to touch and feel last year. B&M had Nitro and Wildfire cars. CCI had the new and improved Gerstlauer car. Chance had a bunch of stuff that didn't work. Zamperla had a ton of rides. Overall, I wouldn't get too excited, as many of the smaller manufacturers still haven't produced some of their new product as far as I know. I'm still waiting for that Reverchon inverted mouse.

As long as Pepsi has booth babes again, I'll choke a soda down there.

I don't think Intamin has ever had anything to touch and feel at IAAPA. Chance seems to specialize in displaying a bunch of pieces that don't work.

I just hope that this year they don't have all the stuff in one hall and all the food in another....!

I suspect that there will be considerable interest in the Premier rides booth, Not only will the owners of Premier coasters be interest in the conversion done on Robin, The Chiller, but I would think that Arrow looper owners will be real curious with and eye to removing the head banging from their coasters. This may be a way for them to do something to upgrade with money tight.

Perhaps Weiland Schwarzkopf ought to go look at a Premier Rides lap bar conversion. Premier's lap bar is, after all, largely patterned after Anton's lap bar design. And the conversion (to shoulder bars) that Weiland did last year for AstroWorld was apparently a dismal failure......

Regarding B&M, I think it is pretty much standard procedure for them to have two of their cars on display. My guess is that one will be a car from the new B&M for SFNE if it is a floorless. Maybe the other one will be for their new flying coaster? We could only hope!

And then they'll deny where the car is headed like they did Nitro. That was funny because the colors matched the track that was arriving at the time.

It all depends on whether the park has announced or not. Nitro had not been announced (officially). But the Wildfire car actually had the SDC logo on the "hood". And a couple of years ago when it was the Kraken car, that was also identified.

I agree that the Premier booth will have alot of interested people seeing what coasters will get lap bars and what new coasters Premier has in store.

i think vekoma may get some attention with there new 265 foot inverted coaster.

When will IAAPA be held?

IAAPA is the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. Every year they hold a conference and trade show, this year in Orlando. It is not an enthusiast event, but a chance to bring buyers and sellers together to conduct business.
