WhiteWater World prepares for opening

Roller-Coaster.com.au has posted a construction update of Dreamworld's new WhiteWater World. The new USD$45 million water park opens on Australia's Gold Coast this December.

ProSlide's favourites dominate the park's lineup with a standard Tornado and Behemoth Bowl as two of the park's largest attractions, as well as the world's first 8-lane version of the popular Octopus Racer attraction. Australia's first Rocket Slide has also been installed at the new park, featuring a revolutionary LIM propulsion system in favour of the conventional conveyor belt or water jet systems used previously.

LIM? On a waterslide? I can't even get my head around that one. I'm having visions of patrons being asked to put on harnesses with metal plates in them.
Those octopus racing-slides look like fun. It's a shame we didn't get to ride them at SFGAM's Hurricane Harbor. It was obvious that something had happened on them as the lifeguards kept testing them over and over again and weren't letting anyone on.
Ya know... I'm no rocket scientist... but... I'm pretty sure the amount of electricity needed to launch any kind of vehicle via LIM and water aren't a real smart combination.

I'm anxious to see how this works.
