Which V2 is better?

After only going on the V2 in Chicago with the 186 foot spike, I am curious how the other V2 at Six Flags Marine World compares to the normal V2s and Superman: Ultimate Escape? Is the like in-line twist better than the vertical twist? What's your opinion?

Yuo don't really need to compare the 2 differnt rides all you need to do is compare the old V2 and the new V2 at SFMW. There were some topics about this made over the boards you outta do a search and you find out which one is better. Otherwise you probally wont get very many responses here becasue the 2 V2's are like over 2000 miles apart and not very many people rode both of them.

Be sure to download my latest NL Wooden Looping Coaster creation Dream Blast.

I perferred the original and I'll tell you why.

A], the launch is not as intense because the LIMS are not fired as long. This thing doesn't even feel like its doing 60 mph

B] The twist on version 2 is fun, but the train crawls up the diagonal ascent because it looses energy slower than the original.

C] Ther back spike has been shortened significantly. The front seat is only a couple feet from the curve into the station. Not a very good drop for those riders.

D] The bleedin' thing is just plain ugly. The diagonal spike is right before the entrance plaza which in my opinion looks tacky.

Oh... I don't know about that Antuan. Granted, all things being equal, and having ridden S:UE, I can attest that I prefer some parts of the original design over the other. That, and the fact that Intamin did design it to be a vertical climb, hence the name V². It's not V².1... ;) BUT, I love the weird twist now, and the fact that you never know which way you are going to end up, given which seat you choose. It's a different ride, granted, but kinda cool IMHO. Plus, the reverse into the station really kicks you now, because you have slowed so much. :):)

Boy, it seems like you just can't win. First SFMW gets slammed for having "another clone" in their lineup. Then the clone is modified (for a completely different reason, however) into an original design. Now it seems like people prefer the standard clone version better.

Enthusiasts, will we ever be satisfied?

I haven't ridden a "standard" intamin impulse yet, but I also liked stalling out upside down on the no-longer-vertical twist on V2/SFMW. It may not be better (and may even be "worse"), but it is different from every other impulse out there, and that's neat.

Antuan's point about the front seat losing on the back spike is true, though. However, you get the upside-down-stall instead. The back seat gets a much better drop. Pick your poison, basically. I found I preferred the front to the back.

Yeah, the front is weak compared to other Impulses. I can't wait to hit WT this May, I will tell you that! :)

I liked Linear Gale, maybe it was just the placement of it, though :)
