Does anyone know what rolling stock Cornball Express and Cheetah will use -- PTC or Gerstlauer?

I know a little German. He's sitting right over there.
Whatever the park wanted to buy. Contrary to popular belief, CCI does not tell you which train to use.

I know that, and I don't think I was implying that CCI dictates which train is used. I was simply asking if anyone knows what will be used on the two new ones.

Jeff probably thought you were prompted to start this thread based on the editorial in First Drop (it was First Drop, wasn't it?) which stated CCI forced parks to use the Gerstlauer trains. You didn't imply that the parks didn't have a choice, but it was an easy conclusion to jump to based on the recent buzz about this misconception. I for one like both trains. Call me crazy.

My understanding is that Cornball will use PTCs just like the ones on Hoosier Hurricane (which, if entirely true, will be better news than it sounds at the moment...!). Don't know about Cheetah, but I'm guessing Gerstlauers for that one.

PTCs seem to be the popular choice among parks and riders alike. Nobody ever seems to complain about them, so I think that's the logical choice for the parks.
I belive that Gerstlauers are great. Without them villain wouldnt have been as great.
I didn't say that anyone wasn't aware of it, I just wanted to bring it up and reinforce the fact. I've seen too many similar threads on other forums degenerate into "Gerstlauer sucks" threads.

Off topic a bit (it regards GCI and not CCI) but this does deal with trains...
There was a rumor floating around that Hersheypark may be refitting Wildcat with "Mellinnium Flyer" trains (as on Lightning Racer) in the next few years. Anyone hear anything about this?

I'm sure that's just a rumor, but MAN what a great one! I can't think of a coaster that I wouldn't like to have Millennium Flyer trains on!
In a GCI flyer that came with Amusement Today they were pushing the MF trains. I wonder if they will sell them for non GCI coasters.

I wonder if CCI will ever begin to market their own trains
Yup, Cornball Express will be using just one PCT train (would like to see two, but oh well). I'll be waiting on the midway to get that one perfect picture of the trains from Cornball and Hurricane crossing on the lift hills!

Will be at Busch Gardens Williamsburg April 28th.
I like the PTC trains a lot, but the lapbars get stuck from time to time which of course causes backups.

I hope this is false, those trains are HORRIBLE. Talk about ruining a good ride...:(

Which type of Train does Ghostrider use?
-------------
Home Park: Knotts Berry Farm!
but also Disneyland and DCA
B&M Webmaster, are you kidding? Out of thousands of comments I have heard about those trains, your's is the first negative one!
If you really don't like them, why? Everyone, including me, RAVES about them. The only criticism is that the lap bars need a little reworking so the Gs don't puch them down so much.
Just curious

B & M webmaster speak for yourself. Its alright to express your opinions, but where are your facts to support the allegation? I think that is dumb if you ask me. I happen to have ridden both coasters,(LR & Wildcat)and I think that Wildcat would benefit alot from that retrofitting. I love wooden coasters and there are few coasters that hurt me to ride them. Wildcat is one that does. I have to ride it the front seat at all times. I love the coaster and the layout its just a relenting ride that doesn't stop until the end. The way that Lightning Racer is a great ride with just as twisted of a layout(as The Wildcat) leads me to believe that those trains would be perfect for the Wildcat. I can ride Lightning Racer from any seat and have a comfortable ride. I'd like to do that on The Wildcat too.
Ghostrider uses PTC trains.

Cornball's train will be a 24 passenger PTC with buzz bars (like big brother HH.)
I would prefer to see PTC's on both, but i still think that the Gerst trains would be fine too.
Either way, cheetah will still be the best ride of 2001.
